Director Tony Scott Commits Suicide, Jumps From Bridge

Famed director Tony Scott has died after jumping to his death from the Vincent Thomas Bridge on Sunday (August 19) in San Pedro, Calif.

The 68-year-old director (and the younger brother of fellow director Ridley Scott) jumped from the bridge at around 12:30pm and left a suicide note in his car, which was parked on one of the eastbound lanes of the bridge, according to TMZ.

Tony had directed such films as Top Gun, Days of Thunder, Spy Game, Man on Fire, The Taking of Pelham 123, and most recently, Unstoppable. He was also slated to direct a sequel to Top Gun.

We send our condolences to Tony‘s family and friends at this difficult time.
