OlderMichelle Dockery: 'Harper's Bazaar' Lady
Michelle Dockery strikes a pose for her feature in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
The 30-year-old Downton Abbey star opened up about her role on the hit period drama, her style, and much more.
On if her character, Lady Mary, was living in 2012: “She’d be in charge, her own boss. She’d have married very well and maybe had kids, but I don’t think she’d be particularly maternal. She’d definitely have help.”
On describing her style: “Very French, understated. That’s the kind of style I go for.”
On being cast in Downton Abbey: “Until then I’d played much more vulnerable parts, but I remember coming out of the audition, and Dan Stevens [who plays her character's love interest, Matthew] was in the waiting room. I said, ‘Who are you up for?’ and he said, ‘Matthew.’ I walked out and thought, Oh, that could work.”

Is she’s stunning or kind of average? I feel bad since she’s an okay actress, but I always find her kind of plain and miscast as Mary, who has 1000s of suitors.
I think she’s stunning and a great actress! And, I saw a video of her on “The Look” with Laura Brown, and she is suprisingly funny!
