The 36-year Irish actor is soon starring in the six-part BBC Two drama Peaky Blinders as Tommy, the most ruthless brother in a family of gangsters, according to Deadline. Tommy’s family rules the lawless post-war slum neighborhoods in Birmingham, Ala. during 1919. The family is known as the “Peaky Blinders”, since they sew razor blades into their caps. When a Belfast police chief and a beautiful, mysterious woman arrive in the city, Tommy’s world is changed.

@DJB: It certainly should. The drama is set in post war Birmingham, England where a number of these sorts of gangs established themselves due to poverty and lack of space indoors for large families or for young men to be active.
