Chloe Moretz: 'Carrie' Stills - First Look Pics!

Chloe Moretz is bloody and terrified in this brand new still from her upcoming horror flick Carrie!

“We only have, like, four chances to get it right,” the 15-year-old actress told EW about the infamous bloody prom dress scene. ”Because that stuff stains your hair.”

Also pictured inside is a first look shot of Julianne Moore as her abusive religious mom Margaret.

“This woman has clearly had a psychotic break, perhaps several,” Julianne said. “But what’s sad about it for me is that she’s clearly sick and here’s this poor child in the thrall of this person who is seriously ill. And on top of that, they have this mother-daughter relationship. So we want to make that relationship as meaningful as possible, even though it is horrible and destructive.”

Carrie is set to be released in March of 2013. We can’t wait to see it!

Give me a break! I think we’ve had enough of Carrie remakes. Wish they’d have a bit more originality in Hollywood

I’m sure Chloe will be great in that role.

I’m so sick of Hollywood thinking we need a remake of some classic movie every 10-20 years. For god sake, they already did a Carrie remake in 2002! And at least that one was understandable because it was closer to the book!

Chloe Moretz as Carrie White is too conventionally beautiful; it just immediately takes me out of it. She just can’t bring the awkward discomfort that Sissy Spacek brought to the role, try as you might.

Give me a break too! You guys seems complain about E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G! Chloe is a good actress. Give her and the movie a chance. She was awesome in the remake Let Me In.

Why does HW always feel like they can make a better version of what is already on the books as a classic?! So stupid and egomanical. Can’t think of one remake of a 60′s, 70′s or 80′s flick that wasn’t not only panned by the critics but also at the box office. What’s next? The Godfather? Even Coppola jacked that one up with “Gf-III.”

@Lola: Yep. Epic miscasting. Chloe is simply too pretty to portray Carrie. She should have been cast as one of the pretty popular girls.

    Derric Says:

For the love of God. Doing a remake does NOT destroy all copies of the original nor does it “ruin” it. This is being made by a quality director with quality actresses. Give it a chance. Also, for everyone saying Chloe is too pretty, maybe you don’t know that Sissy Spacek was pretty during the filming of the original and in fact they wanted her to play the main antagonist Chris Hargensen.

    Athena Says:

Just. Stop. With. The. Remakes. Come up with something new.

  13. 13
    Lola Says:

@Derric: What is being talked about is how Sissy Spacek had a certain edge to her, something she brought to the character that made her both uncomfortable and believable. Chloe does not have that kind of presence or skill.

Carrie: “Mom, I can’t go to the prom dressed like this!”
Mom: “Why not -I did” :P

    sigh… never remake a classic.

    Rob Says:

@KissThis: No problem since the Spacek Carrie is hardly a classic.

    Slight Spoiler Within:

To any of the people commenting on how this film shouldn’t or doesn’t need to be remade, have you read the book? De Palma’s version, while still a classic, and artistically one of the most beautifully shot films I have ever seen, removes so much from the ending sequence that it ended up nothing like Stephen King’s vision, seriously, the way she killed her mom was just religion baiting, Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie were amazing though, I will say that, but, I want to see Carrie the way that Steve envisaged it.

To all of you saying “But it was already remade in 2002″, yes, it was, however, that was a TV movie that COMPLETELY changed the ending so that it could serve as a pilot for a TV series that they hoped would happen (Which failed). This means that Hollywood wise, this remake has come a full 36 years after the original version, I’d say that’s a perfect time to remake something, it’s hardly going to step on the toes of Brian De Palma is it?

Now, in regards to Chloe’s suitability, I think she is more than capable of giving us a believable Carrie White, comparing her to Sissy is completely unfair considering that Spacek was 27 when the movie came out, meaning she’d surely had a lot more acting experience than the 15 year old Chloe, who was amazing as Hit-Girl and Abby. In fact, her performance in The Amityville Horror was also very good considering she was about 8, Chloe Grace Moretz is the next Dakota Fanning (Who seriously let herself down starring in that piece of crap Twilight Saga), of course, that is just my opinion so don’t be getting all silly and calling me names, besides, if Chloe isn’t suitable, but Carrie was still going to be remade, who can you think of that would be better? And don’t be saying anything like Kristen Stewart or Ashley Greene ‘cos those two wouldn’t know acting skill if it smacked them in the face, like most teen/tween actresses nowadays really.

    @Leigh Gabriel:
Well said. Finally a voice of reason amongst the masses. I agree with everything you said, except for why Dakota did Twilight. But that’s for another discussion.
I’d like to know how many of these negative people have actually seen Chloe acting as Carrie. Hands up, anyone? Nope, no one. Amazing how they already know that she isn’t capable of doing this role without having seen anything yet. And I’m not counting the brief BTS footage because that didn’t show her acting, she was just in the scene.

@Leigh Gabriel: Speaking of teen actresses, has anyone heard of Jodelle Ferland since Tideland and Silent Hill? She was amazing in the former.
