Pink Covers 'Billboard' August 2012

Pink is cool as can be on the cover of Billboard‘s August 2012 issue.

Here’s what the 32-year-old singer had to share with the mag:

On inspirations for her songs: “It’s funny. I wrote ‘Family Portrait’ when I was 21 and my parents divorced when I was 9, so I tend to hold onto things. I’m still exorcising some of those demons. And look, I’m in a relationship that I’ve been in for 10 years and it’s never going to be perfect. Carey always jokes, ‘You’re always just mad enough at me to write a song.’ ‘Yep. Thanks, baby, you’re my muse.’”

On her popularity in the UK and not the US:
“I was always on the road in the U.K. and Australia, and things were really great over there. Then I got to come home and be left alone. And you know what? It gave me lot of time to create my show and to become a performer. I would go on 22-month tours and work my ass off, and it’s been the biggest blessing of my life that now I am a touring artist. It got me out of the popularity contest that music can be sometimes and gave me time to hone my craft as a stage performer. I’m also grateful, and I got to come back and do the Grammys [in 2010]. That was my ‘A-ha.’”

It’s almost September and you are only now posting this? lol

  • PuertoRicanGurl

    Ew! Fat gross and ugly!

  • emma

this girl needs to be an inspiration to teens instead of the rihanna/miley’s of the world. which one of them will actually have a successful relationship that’ll last more than 5 years?

  • o

@PuertoRicanGurl: where’s the fat? besides between your arm pits?

  • Mimi

She lost the edge long time ago.

  • Dooley

If Britney or Christina supported wearing Dead Animals Pink would have been all over Twitter calling them out..But like any BULLY they know who to bully and who they can’t.

I’m so over her. Every single one of her songs is the same theme. She thinks she so much cooler than everyone else.

  • Lee

Go away, Pink. She thinks she so much better than everyone else.

  • Villain

She’s just confident about what she’s doing, and that’s absolutely allright. Because she IS amazing. Her concerts are spectacular, her music is good, she has a voice and a family, she’s not a drug addict and leads a stabil life…she’s a role model in Hollywood.

  • Ron

Holy photoshop! She not that thin right now. In fact she a little chunky.

  • Chris

    She ugly and gross.

  • starsh

@Chris: ironic, coz you are certainly gross!

  • lc

love her! she’s the only pop star worth listening these days

  • Bessie Bambo

The JJ Blogger got it wrong. She’s not more successful in the UK. It’s moreso Australia. Pink is moderately successful in the UK. In Australia however she is phenomenally successfull. Her albums I’m Not Dead and Funhouse both went Platinum 11 times.

  • Jamie

I’v e always loved Alicia. She really is in tune with herself. Her love show is beauiful. She’s quite the athlete and vocalist.

  • Bessie Bambo

I’m glad Pink mentioned Australia though in that blurb. Obviously whoever Jared hired as a writer, just picked apart and selected the UK.

  • Ashley

She must have high levels of androgens. Pink has always been very manly. Her shoulders are very wide and she has no hips. Carey must be gay. I’m shocked she was able to carry a child.

  • Ford

@Bessie Bambo: I agree, I didn’t think she was that popular in the UK
