Ryan Gosling: Directorial Debut with 'How To Catch A Monster'

Ryan Gosling will be making his directorial debut with How to Catch a Monster, a film he also wrote, according to EW.

“I am very appreciative to [producers] Marc Platt, Adam Siegel and Bold Films for being so supportive and I look forward to making this film with all of them” the 31-year-old actor said in a statement.

Christina Hendricks, who co-starred with Ryan in Drive, is set to star. No word yet if Ryan will act in the film.

The film is about Christina, a single mother, who is “swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.”

Sounds interesting and ambitious. Good for him. Does he have any flaws? (the obvious choice of Eva Mendes aside)

A single mother raising two kids, huh? This might have many parallels to his own life :)
This is a really ambitious project for a first time director/writer but I’m glad he’s challenging himself. Here’s hoping it can get funding.

Great actor, musician and singer, sexy, and now writer and director. I knew choosing Gosling as my favorite actor was the right choice. The movie would be even more interesting if it included new songs from the Dean Man’s Bones.

It’s nice to read some news that doesn’t involve Evil Mendes. For a while there, she was taking over. It p*ssed me off and I stopped following Gosling for a while. He’s one of my favorite actors, and I’m glad to see he is going to be working on some interesting upcoming projects.

I think Lainey is over him. If you read her entry about this new item, seems she doesn’t really ship him so hard anymore.

Due to his track record, I’m pretty sure he will be one of those directors who sleep with all the female actresses working on his projects. Eva will have a fit, and I hope we get to watch, lol!

I aspected him to become a director too one day but not so young. Definitely, Gosling is the best of his generation. Go Gosling!
