OlderEmma Stone Struggled with Picking Stage Name
Emma Stone keeps her head down as she leaves the Andy LeCompte salon on Wednesday (August 29) in West Hollywood, Calif.
The 23-year-old actress recently told Interview magazine that she struggled in picking a stage name after she realized her real name – Emily Stone – was already being used by another actress.
“I was 16 at the time, and I hadn’t done anything yet, so I was like, ‘I can be whatever I want to be. What name do I want to have?’” Emma said.
“So I went though a list of names and picked Riley,” she added. “But then I had an identity crisis pretty much right after because I had a guest part on Malcolm in the Middle and everyone kept on yelling, ‘Riley!’ and I didn’t know who they were talking to. So I had to change my professional name to Emma, which my mom always called me.”
FYI: Emma is wearing rag & bone’s “Kensington” skinny jeans and “Harrow” boots, and carrying a Michael Kors bag.

Love this girl! She’s so natural looking and down to earth. All her friends and even Andrew call her “Em”.
She’s going to be on the live Stand Up to Cancer Telethon next Friday. Her mom had breast cancer but is in remission now.

Emma was pulled over for speeding while in Malibu. with Andrew’s car (Audi A7) for the second time! Oddly, this happened just days after Emma’s boyfriend. Where is the that news, JJ?

Why did she not change her name to Emmaly? Would be way more original and would give her the opportunity to explain her name Emmaly.
BTW why the h*ll is the other ‘famous’ Emily Stone? Never heard of her.
