Jennifer Garner: Blogger to Save the Children!

Jennifer Garner and her adorable daughter Violet Affleck go shopping at The Grove on Wednesday (August 29) in Los Angeles.

Earlier in the day, the 40-year-old actress blogged for iVillage‘s blog series CelebVillage, in support of Save the Children’s Early Steps to School Success programs.

Jennifer wrote, “Through home visits, book exchanges, parenting groups and more, Early Steps helps babies and toddlers with language, social and emotional development. Just as important, the program helps their parents, giving them the knowledge and skills to support their children’s growth. And the program works: Kids in Early Steps don’t have to play catch up once they start school — they are in line with the national average from the beginning. More important, the parents we work with feel recognized, encouraged and part of a community of people who care about the future of their children.”

It’s nice to see a celeb who is genuinely interested and involved with a particular charity — as opposed to just writing the cheque…

Dealing with paps 24/7 must be a pain in the a$$, but instead of relying on nannies and assistants to fend them off (ahem, Gwen Stefani), Garner prefers to spend time alone with her kids despite the hassles created by the paps. Bravo!

True, I think having a large entourage may have the opposite effect and would draw attention rather than divert it.

the grove is pap central…and of course she uses nannies.

Jennifer Lopez needs to take lessons from Jennifer Garner on raising happy, content children. They want stability and limits, not expensive clothing and $200 pacifiers.

I just observed that suri often holds her blanket and dolls while violet always carrying her book/s. Look at the last two pics, she’s trying to block the move by her though..she’s quite a charmer.
