@lily: And you would know that how? My sister is 29 and both of us love Taylor’s songs because we find them quirky and we can relate to them. My mother is 54 and even she likes some Taylor Swift songs. People have different tastes. People keep saying that she needs to grow up, she’s only 23, not 30! Why shouldn’t she prolong her youth? Fair enough if she was 40 and trying to act 17, but she’s not. And clearly children or 13 – 15 year old girls aren’t going to be her biggest fan base since they probably have never experienced a serious relationship in their lives yet. I’m 18 years old and I appreciate Taylor’s music because as I’m sure everybody knows, your teenage years are filled with relationships that range from heartache to passionate love. And that’s what Taylor’s music is about and what we relate to, and people even in their 20′s still experience this. What would you consider ‘grown up music’? Singing about sex and clubbing and whatnot? Not all of Taylor’s songs are about boys and relationships, and every artist sings about relationships and love at some point. So why drag her down? She’s singing about past experiences and her feelings towards them. If you don’t like them or agree with them, then you find another artist that you do agree with and move on. Nobody wants to grow up. So why bully a girl into doing it when she’s still in the prime of her youth and enjoying life?
