This is starting to feel more like the oscars then the dnc. I just want to here the politicians talk about the decision THEY make. That will affect OUR lives.

HotMessInaWalmartDress – Politicians have been talking about the decisions they will affect our lives for the better part of a year now. But this is convention time and both parties have always pulled out personalities that will appeal to segments of the population they hope to reach. It’s standard operating procedure.

@OH: You make an excellent point. I was just thinking how sad it is that hollywood has that much of an affects on are lives even in politics. That we need a personality (actress) to help sale politics to the people. Its kinda starting to feel like Entertainment.

@HotMessinAWalmartDress – Actually the conventions are part entertainment. It’s really is a show for the American people with a bit of politics thrown in in-between. But this is what happens when you have a country like ours that’s so heavily centered around pop culture. Young people today aren’t reading newspapers. They’re reading entertainment & fashion magazines. So in order to appeal to them, they’re pulling out personalities they can identify with. It is sad, but there it is.

maybe these celebs should think not only how they look but also what they aresaying…
Who is going to take away her right to vote? Who is going to take away her right for to choose, affordable quality education, equal pay, access to health care? I don’t know any party who declares such a thing.
It makes me sick in the stomach when these stupid, low educated celebs trying to impress by making up stuff and saying stupidities.
Girl, think before coming over to lectern. Try to make it a least a bit of smart and reasonable.

#1-Kerry Washington is a graduate of George Washington University in DC with a BA in Theater.
#2-Voter suppression laws are being passed in states with very high democratic/minority turnouts. Google it.
#3-The Romney/Ryan ticket supports making abortion illegal, which takes away a woman’s right to choose.
#4-The Romney/Ryan ticket supports cutting education funding, which limits people’s access to quality free education.
#5-President Obama passed the Lilly Ledbetter act that JUST gave women equal pay for equal work. In 2009. Before that, it was LEGAL to pay women less. No other president rectified this.
#6-The Romney/Ryan ticket supports repealing the PPACA (Patient Protection Affordable Care Act/”Obamacare”), which gives people access to affordable health care.

It makes me sick in the stomach when these stupid, low educated COMMENTERS [try] to impress by NOT DOING THEIR OWN RESEARCH ON FACTS and saying stupidities.<—–which is what you just did, nbv. #tryagain

Thank you!! I was just about to respond when I saw your post. Well said.

She looks younger than 35. More like 25

Queen Kerry slayed it as usual ^_^

I want to speak at one of these things! The applause would be so fun lol

Wow, you want a discussion, brave girl, or whoever you are….
So, I begin….
#1-Kerry Washington is a graduate of George Washington University in DC with a BA in Theater. – - – So what??? BA in Theater ??? I guess now she knows something about the theater. Good for her. I have two degrees from respectable European Universities, where you have no advantages for enrollment regardless your nationality or race. So called Equality.
#2-Voter suppression laws are being passed in states with very high democratic/minority turnouts. Google it. —- Google yourself. Voter suppression laws are aimed at preventing fraud and assure integrity. These laws don’t take away your right to vote they make it harder in some ways, for example you need to have an ID, which approx. 17% of the Americans don’t have.
#3-The Romney/Ryan ticket supports making abortion illegal, which takes away a woman’s right to choose.— So, where Karry in her speech mentioning it? Did she say that Romney takes away her right for abortion?
#4-The Romney/Ryan ticket supports cutting education funding, which limits people’s access to quality free education. — It is simply not true.
#5-President Obama passed the Lilly Ledbetter act that JUST gave women equal pay for equal work. In 2009. Before that, it was LEGAL to pay women less. No other president rectified this.— Once again!!! what party declares a wish to take away this right?
#6-The Romney/Ryan ticket supports repealing the PPACA (Patient Protection Affordable Care Act/”Obamacare”), which gives people access to affordable health care.—- It gives access to affordable health care for one people and takes it from the other, since the med. insurance is getting a mandatory for all, it takes away my right not to pay for it. If my income is $34.000 a year I have to pay around $5.000 per year for the insurance which covers only 60% of the med. expenses.

It makes me sick in the stomach when these stupid, low educated COMMENTERS [try] to impress by NOT DOING THEIR OWN RESEARCH ON FACTS and saying stupidities.<—–which is what you just did, nbv. #tryagain——– Read more careful, girl. and think twice before trying to challenge me. Good try, though.

Just wanted to add to your reply . . . #5 President Obama’s own White House staff 2011 annual report showed that the woman on his staff were paid 18% less then the men. Also, reports from when he was a Senator showed women were paid less. I guess his Lilly Ledbetter Act doesn’t pertain to him!

Very liked Kerry Washington’s speech. She looks fantastic and very gorgeous in her black dress and this hairstyle is very good for her.

do your home work before you say the women in obama office gets paid less than the men you are so wrong. there are women who makes morer are equal to the men. so when you start bad mouthing facts do your home work. or better yet check your e-mail.
