Taylor Swift's 'Ronan' - New Song Debuted on SU2C Telecast!

Taylor Swift performs her new song “Ronan” during the 2012 Stand Up To Cancer telecast on Friday (September 7) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old singer reportedly wrote the song for a 4-year-old boy named Ronan who passed away after a battle with cancer.

“Ronan” is now available for purchase on iTunes, with all proceeds going to cancer related charities.

Donations can still be made online at www.su2c.org, via phone at 1-888-90-STAND (78263) or by texting STAND to 40202. One hundred percent of all public donations go directly to cancer research.

Beautiful song.

Regardless of whether people like Taylor or not, let’s just keep in mind the song’s purpose and SU2C. That beautiful little boy’s picture at the end of the video is just heartbreaking.

She is very sweet and nice. But she is not singer or songwriter.
She can’t sing. She uses acting techniques to indicate emotion rather than showing it through her voice because she CAN’T sing.
With all that said it is great that she uses her fame to help others.

Beautiful!

Very touching. He was such a beautiful boy :’(

This is so much bigger then the talents of Taylor Swift this post is about a beautiful little boy who died from a deadly disease that is ravishing this country so I don’t care what you simple minded people have to say about taylor swifts voice but don’t you dare come on here disrespecting that baby’s memory RIP Little Ronan this was a beautiful song written beautifully and performed beautifully

Good on beautiful Taylor!

What a beautiful song. If she sang and wrote more songs like this I feel like far more people would like her.

A beautiful song written for a beautiful little boy. <3.

Anyone who sang this song would be shaky, insert adjective here. Shoot, I can barely listen and watch without a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.

Listen to it again and hear it not as TS saying/singing it, but from the perspective of a mother or father who have lost their little boy.

Ronan’s mom co-wrote this song. Very touching.

I feel awful cause I really want to listen to it and get the beautiful message of the lyrics, but I can’t stomach Taylor’s singing. Her off pitch, weak voice ruins the whole song. I’m not trying to hate, I’m sure it’s a lovely song, but I just can’t listen to her.

Then just don’t listen or open the news about Taylor Swift it’s simple. Why you waste your time to open the news and comment if can’t stomach her?

@Porche: I want to give her a chance and be a fan because a lot of people do like her, but I guess her music just isn’t for me. I commented because it’s a beautiful song.

That was depressing.
I’m never listening to that song again.

i like tswift if the news is about like this, its really better if she stay away from the boy kennedy coz only negative and ugly news if shes with that boy.

I thought Taylor’s performance was beautiul it’s hard to sing a song like that and she was crying also which affects your voice

Speechless, Taylor. Love you to the Moon and back for being such a kind person.

honestly she knows herself that she su x

dumb people will believe this song and like this song , to me it’s empty as she sings it … bad and lame puppet !

Beautiful song. Taylor did a great job.

Beautiful song. His mum co-wrote it, so it’s sung from her perspective. That said, I hope this doesn’t get played on the radio – it’ll get me bawling again and I’ll have to pull over!

“Fake”…my heart goes out to you…We know the parents of little Ronan very well and your comment is unneccessary and only defines the pain you are in if you insist on spreading such hatred. The song is taken from one of the mom’s blog posts and Taylor was inspired to turn it into a song. I hope you find your own purpose that brings you joy instead of sitting in your own personal hell, projecting the pain that exists inside you. Find some meaning in your life so that you can start living for something bigger than yourself. All the best to you.

Ronan was three when he passed away (3 days shy of his fourth birthday). Check out rockstarronan.com for the love story and unbreakable bond between a mother and son that inspired Taylor’s beautiful new song. All proceeds from this song will go straight to the foundation (theronanthompsonfoundation.com). Spread the word! Every child deserves to grow up.

I don’t understand all this hate on her. She’s doing an amazing thing for all this poor people with this terrible disease. And the haters are just spreading more hate and stupidity, why don’t you donate for Ronan Foundation? I did and I’m feeling better, you should do the same.

GOD bless you taylor for everything that you are

I am not a big fan of Taylor, but this song is simply lovely. The words, her production, and even her song really touched me. I hope Ronan is smiling and at peace.

* even her voice really touched me

If that song doesn’t bring a tear to your eye then you must not have a heart. Awesome.
