Ryan Lochte Teams With Gillette To Donate To Former Swim Club (Exclusive)
Ryan Lochte presents a check to his former swim club, Daytona Beach Speed, on Sunday (September 9) in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The 28-year-old Olympic swimmer teamed up with Gillette to present the $25,000 check to the swim club where he got his start.
“I had such a great time today visiting with my old swim club. I love being able to give back and put a smile on a child’s face. Nothing makes me happier,” Ryan exclusively told JustJared.com.
After skipping out on Mercedes Benz Fashion Week events to fly to Florida, Ryan presented the check at a swim meet and posed for pictures with the young swimmers for the happy occasion!

Just as long as there was a photo op right??? Please take my picture so I can get on tv shows then people will think I’m famous.
@ Mister D: He’s already famous and that’s his former swim club. Gillette is a popular brand so of course there will be pics.
Young poeple love him. Good for them and the swim club.
Ok, this is definitely for image purposes, but it’s the right kind of publicity. As opposed to declaring that he wants to be the Bachelor and on Gossip Girl.
I don’t get the hate with this guy. He’s really sweet with the fans and the media. He was great with my little sister when we met him. He’s even better looking in person.
I don’t understand the hate either. In fact, he seems to project who he really is. I understand it if some people don’t like what they see, but I think I prefer the fact that he does not try to be somebody else. He could try dropping the hip hop stuff and all the other things in order to make his image more digestible to some people. But he does not do that.
He would need to be the biggest jerk in history to not enjoy giving back to his swimming club with or without cameras on site. Who wouldn’t feel joy in a situation like that?
He is famous now. No doubt about it. I think he is going to be a bigger start once he gets more comfortable with the camera. I lived in Gainesville for 8 years and know that attention has always been there for him with women and with men…He is just beautiful. I wonder how the fame is going to affect him…Hope all goes well for this fellow gator.
nice gesture! many swimming hopefuls don’t have the means to finance their training and every bit helps
Love me some Lochte!
Blake needs to call him ;)
Sick of him
His 15 minutes are up aren’t they…
Love him!!
Awwww a good guy
Love RY..He’s pretty cool!
Those kids must be thrilled. He is a great swimming role model.
love him, great guy, nice from Gilette too.
I have been keeping up with Mr. Lochte since the Olympics. He seems to be a very genuine person. He always has a big smile on his face, and appears to be enjoying what he is doing. I have read countless posts on him, and have yet to hear of a fan encounter that was negative. I wish him all the success.

Could have commented that the check was not only presented to his former club but his COACH and FATHER Coach Steve Lochte who deserves credit for guiding this 11time Olympian to where he is today
No he isn’t doing this for publicity or PR. He’s been doing swim clinics and meeting with young swimmers for YEARS. Check the date on some of those youtube postings many date back to 08 and 09 before he was popular with the main stream media. So nope he just cares…imagine that!
Beautiful that he was able to give to his coach and father Coach Steve
Would have been nice to have made mention that’s who he’s shaking hands with!
