i know if this is true, its worst most ever. there are much better actresses out there to be the face of the brand.

this was the only tweet, but since it was a exclusive/breaking news tweet we will hear some BS very soon….and another pap outing to go with it.

    Fashionista Says:

Kate’s perfect for SKII. She has the most beautiful features and skin. She also presents herself beautifully. Her campaigns for CK and Revlon were gorgeous. I’m sure Cate Blanchett will remain a face for them. It’s not unusual to have more than one person promote a product.
@lord: I thought the last sentence in your post was part of the tweet. But I realize it’s your comment. Makes a big difference.
@ladybug: Maybe they’re launching the new campaign in Australia and that’s why some Aussie got a tip.
I’ll bet it’s a big payday for Kate!

    ladybug Says:

@Fashionista: But she doesn’t have great skin, she did at one point, but not now.

If they’re launching a new campaign in Australia why not use one of the many Aussie actresses, instead of some barely known American? And why call the entertainment reporter for a regional Aussie paper? That’s a serious marketing/advertising question, by the way.

    Blackcat9 Says:

@ladybug: Ladybug ever time they say she has BEAUTIFUL skin I wonder who they talking about? Are they looking at her recent photos or what? Especially for a woman of 29! She looks the same age as MP. I would not buy any product with her face on it! You know they are going to PHOTOSHOP the HELL out her photos! I want products to make me look younger! Not add 15-20 years!

    Macy Says:

Sometimes I wonder if any of her movies will be released. They all seem to be shelved for very long periods of time.

What’s SK-II? I assume it’s some kind of makeup. That’s weird that only one person would get that info. I’ve never even heard of that brand. Well, if it’s true then let’s hope it improves her skin.

    Fashionista Says:

Regarding WWWH, WME is a talent agency. They don’t distribute films but handle distribution rights. Most likely, they negotiated the deal with Wrekin Hill.

“Kate Bosworth looks even more gorgeous in black and white as evidenced by While We Were Here, an Italy-set relationship drama that makes the most of the luminous beauty of both its star and the locations of Naples and the island of Ischia off the Amalfi coast. . . .
It’s all familiar stuff, but it works to a certain extent thanks to Bosworth’s sensitive performance and Goldberg’s nuanced turn as the cuckolded husband.”

“An antipasto platter of film references, “While We Were Here” bends the conventions of its various inspirations, which include De Sica, Rossellini, “Roman Holiday” and (although the central location is Naples) Godard, because Bosworth so strongly evokes Jean Seberg in “Breathless.” . . . .
Bosworth blossoms gloriously as Jane finds her erotic footing — but is precise and moving, much like the film itself. ”
I’d say The Hollywood Reporter and Daily Variety gave her rave reviews.

    Fashionista Says:

@ladybug: “If they’re launching a new campaign in Australia why not use one of the many Aussie actresses, instead of some barely known American?” It’s just a launch. A starting point. The campaign will probably be global or atleast in several countries. Like it or not, Kate’s famous. They’re not going to sign someone on without doing their homework. If you ask me, all they had to do was look at the Tom Ford fashion spread in InStyle to know she’s their girl. The picture of her to promote his cosmetic line was stunning.

    ladybug Says:

@Blackcat9: Cate B has much better skin, and she’s 43.
Perhaps SK-II is going for the before and after advertising: Before this 29 1/2 year old actress/fashionista had much older looking skin. But after a month of using our products, she looks likes she’s 24 again!

    @Macy, SK-II is a skincare line:

    ladybug Says:

@Fashionista: I’m not sure I’d call ‘sensitive performance’ a rave review. A nice review, yes, but it’s really stretching the term ‘rave’.

And even with those ‘rave’ reviews it apparently took WME from May until last week to find a US distributor. Which isn’t good, especially consider this was a very cheap film to make and it might very easily make back production/promotion costs.

As for KB being famous, yes in generals terms, she’s famous. But that famous? No, she’s not. Maybe in her little ass-kissing fashion circle she’s famous, but outside of that? When was her last successful movie?

If SK-II, or Cotton, or whomever, wants to expand their brand hiring someone most people are going to have to Google to make sure they know she is, not a good marketing move.

  10. 135
    Well its About time Says:

at least she got a bit of work lol after what over 1 year of being washed up and unemployed.
It’s about time she got off her boney **** instead of trying to be a professional gf and bed hopper and start earning a living

  11. 136
    lord Says:

crap shes coming here (Australia) to promote it next month.

SKII is a very expensive up market skin care range. i really dont think she is the best face for it.

  12. 137
    Tulip Says:

She’s the best face for it!!
” Parinda Hasdarngkul, general manager of Global SK-II says, “Kate Bosworth epitomises the classic beauty that SK-II represents and we welcome her to our expanding family of ambassadors around the world.”

She’s a classic beauty and perfect for the product. Brilliant!

  13. 138
    Tulip Says:

From Marie Claire: “The 29-year old beauty, known for her flawless, youthful complexion, is a seemingly perfect fit for the brand, which prides itself on results.”
Well, the folks at Marie Claire also think she has a flawless complexion.

  14. 139
    Blackcat9 Says:

@Tulip: God! That made me laugh!

  15. 140
    Blackcat9 Says:

I really do not think Kate qualifies to represent a skincare line with her sickly and acne prone complexion. But, I think she would be just perfect to represent Bosley Hair Replacement!

  16. 141
    ladybug Says:

@Tulip: Then they’re not paying any more attention than you are.

@lord, how many people in Australia, at last that this brand is marketed at, actually know who she is?

If you want to sell a brand, have an ambassador that looks like she uses the product. Kate needs a little work in that department. I am presuming they’re going to have to photoshop the heck out of any print adds.

Maybe for an extra bonus, she’ll sing in one of the commercials.

  17. 142
    hmmmmm Says:

a bit catty but maybe they are using her for the before pics….. and use cate blanchett for the after pics !!!!
She is just one of the ambassadaors of the product. cate blanchett is still endorsing the product. it says so in the press release. the first part of the clippet Tulip posted clearly says she wil be joining cate blanchett as one of the several ambassadors.
    @lord and ladybug
maybe they are using her since she is not so well known in australia. her recent antics are therefore unknown. probably people still remember her from her blue crush days and are not so aware that all she has done lately is grocery shopping and getting photographed for it! Just Jared , i am guessing, is not a popular site in Australia.

  18. 143
    lord Says:

well she was here when she was filming superman. however many years ago that was. she was paid to come to our biggest race day The Melbourne Cup. She wore a stupid thing on her head.

I think other than that she is ALWAYS is our gossip rags so her face is familiar to us.(if you look at the mags weekly). People only know her as the ex girlfriend of Orlando, the surfing movie, the skinny fashion girl.

  19. 144
    HAHAHA Says:

I love the jealous OB/AS fangurls and their crazy posts! They’re good for a laugh.

  20. 145
    OMG! Says:

There’s no denying Kate Bosworth is beautiful!

  21. 146
    OMG! 2 Says:

And there is no denying she is cheap, druken unpaid tart , well done
Sk-ii for picking a druken tart over kind hearted beautiful angelina jolie for an ambassador for your product.

    Tanter Says:

Has KB ever mentioned that she uses SK-II? I know Cate Blanchett did, even before she became their face so her endorsing the brand seems very authentic. Less so with KB though by now it’s right up her alley..

  23. 148
    ladybug Says:

@HAHAHA: You forgot James Rousseau fangirls! But seriously, this is all can retort with, again? That those of us who don’t like her are jealous, fat fangirls? Perhaps instead it’s all about the Bosworth.

@lord, so they’re hiring a gosip pages staple to promote an upscale brand?

  24. 149
    ladybug Says:

@Tanter: No, I don’t think sh’es mentioned using it. And nor does she look like she uses it. As already mentioned, they could be honest and do a before/after ad campgain (shot by MP!), but they’ll probably just Photoshop the heck out anything.
I wonder how long the contract is for and how well it’ll actually do. Her ‘major’ campaigns don’t seem to last that long.

  25. 150
    lord Says:

no she is just always in gossip mags. SKII ads are in fashion mags.
