Sarah Jessica Parker Covers 'THR' Emmy Icons Issue
Sarah Jessica Parker takes the cover of the The Hollywood Reporter‘s Emmy Icons issue.
Here’s what the 47-year-old actress had to share with the mag:
On how Sex and the City was unique: “What was unique and special was that the language was so new — and I don’t mean the salty, ribald, provocative stuff. A woman like Carrie was unlikable to many people in terms of how she spent her time, how she spent her money, her personal choices about children and marriage and affairs. But there was a human-ness to her that people connected to.”
On the similarity of SATC to HBO’s Girls: “It’s a very different show. But the similarity is in the intimacy of the conversations among women.”
On winning an Emmy for her work in SATC in 2004 after six nominations: “[It was] the perfect punctuation point for what was an extraordinary experience.”

Sex & the City was an amazing show, but those movies are a disservice to it. They should have just let it go rather than trying to make more money off of it by trading in its edginess and freshness for the masses.
i love sjp!!
@Reba:
The first movie was alright. But they shouldn’t have done the second one for sure…
She seems like a really down-to-earth, genuinely nice person, and I love her personal everyday style, so unaffected.
I love her !

Whatever people say, she is one of the UGLIEST woman on screen.

Sex and the City was a great and really fun to watch show. And I agree with what SJP said about it being innovative in some parts.
