Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit' Trailer - Watch Now!

Check out this newly released trailer for Peter Jackson‘s upcoming flick The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey!

Starring Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Luke Evans, Evangeline Lilly, and Lee Pace, the flick is the first of three planned prequels to the hit series Lord of the Rings.

Here’s a synopsis: A curious Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, journeys to the Lonely Mountain with a vigorous group of Dwarves to reclaim a treasure stolen from them by the dragon Smaug (voiced coincidentally by Martin‘s Sherlock co-star Benedict Cumberbatch).

The film is set to be released on December 14 – we can’t wait!

    to Amy

it’s coming out and a lot of people are looking forward to the film. deal with it.

Apparently Richard Armitage isn’t famous enough to merit a mention in Jared’s cast list despite having a bigger role than Orlando Bloom. Aidan Turner looks delish. The film is never going to satisfy everyone, but if I remember rightly this bitching and moaning happened with LOTR to begin with too. I’m glad it’s Peter doing it, it keeps in in his word, which is where it should be, I don;t think it would have been the same with another director.

  • HiThere

Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood have tiny appearances in this movie, but JJ decided to post their names instead of Richard Armitage, who is one of the most important character in this movie grrrr

I don’t care people don’t like it, it’s just an adaptation

Ugh. They shouldn’t do another one. Why do they keep making sequels to mythical classics!? The original trilogy absolutely doesn’t need this.

  • @12

Uhm, the “original trilogy” wouldn’t exist without The Hobbit.
This is where it all began.

  • @9

Elijah and Orlando are much better known than Richard.
It shouldn’t surprise you that their names are mentioned.

  • kelly

omg i cant wait i have the book the cartoon movie and so wanted the hobbit movie to come out befoe lotr but i dont care I CANT WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It isn’t surprising but sad that actors who play big roles in the movie aren’t mentioned!!!
And by the way: Andy Serkis, Aidan Turner, Hugo Weaving, Richard Armitage, James Nesbitt are not difficult names to write or to remember ;-)

  • @17

But those names wouldn’t get people’s attention like the names Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellen, etc.
They will get their moment in the sun, but they may never have the drawing power some of the others.
I imagine that it will be the same at the premieres. While Peter Jackson will make sure that the main actors get recognition, the crowds, and the press, will be screaming for Orlando, Elijah, Ian and Cate.
The premiere for the second film may be different, once people become more aware of the other actors. But the first premiere will be more like the premiere for FOTR. Only the well known actors received attention. Billy, Dom and even Orlando were almost completely ignored.
    That’s just how fame works.

You’re right, but nevertheless I don’t like it and I think it would help when some of the professionals sometimes would try to think out of the box…

i’am a big fan of LOTR, i like legolas very much and i want orlando to play a bigger role in the movie, but it is going to be fantastic just like LOTR was!!
