She needs to lay off the botox and fillers. Her mouth is now crooked and one eye is drooping.

    Blackcat9 Says:

Ha!HA!HA! Kate’s playing a METH HEAD MOM! and a *****! What a perfect role! She certainly looks the PART and no make-up will be needed to make her look like a METH HEAD her complexion is more suited to this than a high scale cosmetic line! This is a HOOT! She won’t even have to act! Much!

I’m waiting for her scenes with Franco. Because the pretentiousness will probably ooze from the screen.

Note that JJ gives her a post for playing a meth addict and not for becoming the newest ambassador for SK-II. And he chooses the photo from last week where her top doest nit and it looks like she rolled her face in blush.

    Jen Says:

Well, she has the face and body for it!! LOL

    Ohmy Says:

We should start a betting pool, who wants to bet she screws around on Polish with Franco? Statham wouldn’t touch her, he has Rosie.

  13. 13
    ladybug Says:

This actually has possibilities of a really good/bad cheesy movie: A script by Stallone, Statham in the lead (he’s a successful actor, just not very good), Franco, and KB. Will they have KB has a ‘pretty’ meth addict or go full blown ‘faces of meth’.

And it’s got Winona! She’s 40, and looks younger than KB does.

  14. 14
    Claire Mélusine Says:

    She’s gonna act herself?

YEAH seems about right! SHES already SKINNY ENOUGH to play a meth head, so why not…soon her roles will be limited to drug addicts and anorexics due to her weight or lack of

  24. 24
    Blackcat9 Says:

@Ohmy: I was thinking the same thing! That ring is not going to mean a thing if Kate thinks she can latch onto something better!

  25. 25
    Anna Says:

One of the things I respect about Kate is she has never allowed herself to by typecast. She went from a fresh faced surfer girl in Blue Crush to a teenage girlfriend of a porn star in Wonderland to a wide eyed innocent in the comedy Win A Date With Tad Hamilton. And that was just the beginning of her career. Not many actors have the courage play such diverse roles and at such a young age. She’s talented and I’m looking forward to her playing opposite James Franco.

  26. 26
    Jeannie Says:

    Perfect role for her.

Kate has s finally stop over bleaching her hair hopefully it will stop the hairloss lol . She looks better as a darker blond not the white bleached hair too bad she didn’t stop completely coloring her hair and went to her natural light brown hair soo her hair can become thicker, recover, like when she was younger,,,,,,,,and yea she needs to stop filling those lips there are pics when she was younger and her upper lip was thinner……….

  29. 29
    Shoegal421 Says:

Shouldn’t be a stretch for her.

    esther Says:

Yeah! finally a film for her! we’ve waited for long time! and i love the whole cast! films seems so interesting, i hope stallone made a good dialogue!!! ;)

  32. 32
    ladybug Says:

@Blanca: It could be. I know that Stallone’s written a lot, after all he did write Rocky. But … he’s not very consistent with the writing ability, IMO.
So this could turn out to be an interesting little flick. Or it could suck.

@Anna “Not many actors have the courage play such diverse roles and at such a young age” Uh huh, she’s just such a unique and talented actress that no one before or after tried to diversify their roles.

  33. 33
    Whycantipost Says:

She just plays herself in every role. The innocent girl for when she meets a guy, the ho for when she steals a guy from gwyneth paltrow, the drug addict for when she wants to be extra skinny, the healthy surfergirl when she was still down to earth and not so creepy looking.
    Yup. Very talented. -.-

  34. 34
    lord Says:

She is typed cast she has played a drug addict or something similar in a few movies. she sticks to the same roles. blue crush and win a date were at the start of her career when she was healthy, wholesome and fresh in Hollywood there were many young actresses after her

her movies with a similar destructive or addict characters
    Another happy day
    little birds
    girl in the park
    beyond the sea

i think the only reason she got the role is no one else wanted the part, come on people it was written by Sylvester Stallone. What self respecting actress would want this role.

I also think James Franco is REALLY over rated.

  35. 35
    ladybug Says:

@lord: Hasn’t she said she likes the ‘dark’ parts? I’m too lazy to go look that up but I think she’s mentioned that she’s drawn to those.

Well, Lindsay Lohan could have played the role, especially last year!

  36. 36
    Nice Says:

Stallone is a good writer and this is a talented cast. Should be good.

  37. 37
    ladybug Says:

@Nice: “good” and “talented” must have different meanings to you.
As already mentioned, Stallone’s not a horrible writer, and he’s written quite a lot. But most of that isn’t really “good”, more like passable. And other than Franco and Ryder, ‘talented’ isn’t a word I used to describe the rest of the cast’s acting talents.

  38. 38
    Anna Says:

@lord: I forgot about The Girl In The Park. Both Kate and Sigourney’s performances were brilliant. As for Beyond the Sea, she played a young innocent Sandra Dee whose life spiraled downward. In that film her character ran the gamut. Kate was hilarious in L!fe Happens. I loved her scenes with Justin Kirk.
Most actors seem to like dark, gritty films.
@ladybug: I haven’t seen many films written by Sylvester Stallone but he created the great character Rocky Balboa. And Rambo, too. He’s a talented guy. I know he’s written quite a lot. How many of them have you seen?

  39. 39
    ladybug Says:

@Anna: I liked Cliffhanger, but it wasn’t the world’s greatest screenplay. Same with Expendables.

The overall quality of writing has decreased as the years have gone by:

Kate’s an average actress, especially recently. She’s not horrid, but neither is she really very good.

  40. 40
    Georgia Says:

@ladybug: I don’t know what you mean by she’s an average actress, especially recently. Does that mean in your opinion she’s improved or not? I think she’s a very good actress, underrated actually. I’m looking forward to seeing While We Were Here. She’s gotten wonderful reviews.

  41. 41
    Buzz Kill Says:

KB + JF = Onscreen hotness!

  42. 42
    ladybug Says:

@Georgia: I mean what I wrote, in my opinion she’s average. She’s neither completely sucky nor consistently very good. I don’t think she’s improved, most of her better reviews were when she was younger.
You think she’s wonderful, which is great for you, but for me she’s just sort of there, she’s not very memorable.

@Buzz Kill, they’re playing brother and sister, so not hotness. And he’s a dealer and she’s a user, so extra not-hotness.

Kate Bosworth and James Franco in the same movie? I don’t think the world can handle that much pretentiousness in one place.

  44. 44
    ladybug Says:

@burnt bacon: Yep, note my comment at #10. I think JF has acting talent, but the last two years he’s been such a pretentious dbag it’s hard to remember the acting part.

  45. 45
    What??? Says:

Are you people crazy? There’s nothing pretentious about Kate or James. They’re both extremely talented! Who are you people???

  46. 46
    ladybug Says:

@What???: Who are we people? People who pay attention, that’s who. If you think JF hasn’t been acting pretentious then you haven’t been paying attention the last two years. And yes, KB’s got some pretentiousness as well, it’s just not as glaringly obvious as JF.
And I’m pretty sure that KB and ‘extremely talented’ don’t belong in the same sentence together.

  47. 47
    ladybug Says:

    Fools Says:

@ladybug: Really? Please explain your ignorant comments. How is JF pretentious and how is KB pretentious? Look at your posts! You’re a silly, dumb, jealous girl with hardly any life. I feel sorry for you. I hope you’re young and have time to turn your life around.

  49. 49
    YAY Says:

I’m excited for this movie. I love James Franco, Kate Bosworth, and Jason Statham.

  50. 50
    Macy Says:

James Franco has spent the last couple of years babbling on about how he attended film school and that he’s super arty and writes stories, poems and stuff. James Franco’s favorite subject is James Franco. Guy talks about himself and pumps his own tires nonstop. Just read any interview in the past two years. It’s dripping with patting of his own back.

  51. 51
    Blanca Says:

@Fools: hey, I don’t like to talk much about people that I don’t know, but I agree with you.
But, hey… they these posters do have an awesome, real cool life, you know ;)

  52. 52
    Kate Says:

She really looks like a junkie. She don’t have to pretend.

  53. 53
    ladybug Says:

@Macy: Someone’s insistent on JF’s pretentiousness being spelled out, either they’re really really obtuse or they just want it repeated that he’s pretentious.

They should cast Goop as well, that might be fun!

As I already wrote, this good be an actually decent movie, or we could get a lot scene chewing/overacting on the part of at least a couple of the actors.

  54. 54
    Amelie Says:

@Macy: Correct me if I’m wrong but when someone is interviewed, aren’t they expected to talk about themselves? Aren’t they asked questions about themselves?
@ladybug: Lady, I’m not obtuse and I don’t get your accusations of pretentiousness. In fact, your showy and nasty and know-it-all comments lead me to believe you’re pretentious. You and a few others!

  55. 55
    ladybug Says:

My comments are nasty? Interestingly I’m not the one saying she looks like she’s already a methhead, she doesn’t. I’m saying that she, and especially JF, often come across as snobs. Yes, in interviews you’re supposed to talk about yourself. But there’s a way to do that without looking like an annoying twit. JF has lost that skill. Goop does it as well. KB isn’t as obvious, but it shows up on occasion.

“You and a few others!” Where are you? You’re on a gossip site, are you expecting everything to be sweetness and niceness for KB? You know this isn’t the place for KB butt-kissing.

  56. 56
    Blackcat9 Says:

I’m not a butt kisser and I stand by my word. Kate looks like a meth head!Bad skin. anorexic body and lack of muscle tone! Yes! Kate looks like a METH HEAD and she does not just act like a snob. She is a SNOB!

When STANS come on here expressing their skewed views “Kate’s PERFECT” Kate’s FLAWLESS”. Well she’s NOT! Just because Kate played in one AVERAGE movie and gets herself Papped ALL the time does not make her perfect.. Kate does not come off as a nice person and she is not flawless. If you want to call me NASTY I really don’t care. because the same PEOPLE calling me NASTY! are the same ones spewing out hateful crap about others on this site. So, I guess we really are on the same level.

The pot is always calling the kettle black!

  57. 57
    Tulip Says:

@Amelie: Ladybug sometimes tries to be fair and reasonable.

“Homefront” is an action film and should be quite entertaining. I really really like the cast.

  58. 58
    Tulip Says:

    @Blackcat9: You’re insane!

  59. 59
    Gemma Says:

“According to, Kate Bosworth has just been named the new brand ambassador for SK-II. The fashion forward star, whose flawless complexion, beautiful blonde locks and dual-colored eyes has probably been approached by countless brands, but striking a deal with such a luxuriuos line seems very fitting.

    Read more:

    She’s perfect!
@Blackcat9: I think you should get your eyes checked!

  60. 60
    Blackcat9 Says:

@Tulip: Tulip I could say the same about you! And My! OH! My! That was a NASTY thing to say! OOps! I forgot! It’s not NASTY coming from a Kate STAN only when someone says something about your Precious Kate with her Flawless skin Cough! Cough!

  61. 61
    ladybug Says:

@Tulip: As I wrote, it has the possibility of being a good movie, it depends on whether Stallone is writing in something more than clichés. Calling your meth lord ‘Gator’ is clichéd.

  62. 62
    Blackcat9 Says:

@Gemma: I think someone needs their eyes checked and it’s not me! Look at the break out not only her forehead, chin, cheek and upper lip. Then take a look at the lines around her eyes, mouth and throat! DAMN! Kate looks at LEAST 40. I wonder how just how long Kate is going to have to use those products before they can Photograph And let’s not forget PHOTOSHOP the Ad photos.×827.jpg

  63. 63
    Puh-leez Says:

I looked at the picture Blackcat9 posted and I have to say there are very few people who can have such a close up picture taken and look almost flawless. Kate’s one of the few. I don’t want to think what I’d look like!!

  64. 64
    ladybug Says:

“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

    That face isn’t flawless, skin-wise, it’s normal.

  65. 65
    Lois Says:

Why would a dealer want revenge because his nephew go served by a girl? Seems more likely he’d smack the crap out of the nephew Nd tell hi to man up. I wonder how sterotypically trailer trashy Stallone will make these people? I’m going to bet that KBobble will be replaced as with previous parts.

  66. 66
    Macy Says:

I bet it’s the second option of scenery chewing. I haven’t watched many of her movies where she hasn’t done that.

Seriously? Have you ever even read some of his interviews? They’re beyond pretentious. James Franco got lambasted for his lame stint as an Oscar host, and his response to that was trite and snobby.

  67. 67
    Macy Says:

LOL too bad she can’t even get the company name right. Some spokesperson she turned out to be. From her twitter. The SKI family?! Really Kate?

    Kate Bosworth ‏@katebosworth
Honored to be a part of the SKI-II family, I’ve been a fan of this brand for many years.

  68. 68
    ladybug Says:

@Lois: Sadly, I’m suspecting he’ll go stereotypical trashy. Stallone doesn’t really do nuance.

@Macy: I notice she said she’s a fan, not that she’s used it.

  69. 69
    Macy Says:

“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
    LOL! Inconceivable!!

  70. 70
    Macy Says:

You’d think she’d at least know what the name was then. Good lord!

  71. 71
    ladybug Says:

@Macy: She could have mis-typed, but then that goes back to making sure you proof read before you send something like that out. Yeah we’re all going to make typing mistakes, but for something like that proof read at least once.

  72. 72
    Macy Says:

When you’re the spokesperson of a brand, you bet you should proof read to make sure things are spelled correctly before tweeting.

  73. 73
    Gemma Says:

@ladybug: “The 29-year old beauty, known for her FLAWLESS, youthful complexion, is a seemingly perfect fit for the brand, which prides itself on results.” I guess you should explain to the folks at Marie Claire they’re using the wrong term when describing Kate’s skin. After all, you know best!
@Macy: I’m sure it’s a typo. Really? You’re going to start picking at that? I get it. Kate has a film starting up, a big campaign, a man who loves her, and she’s very happy. It’s killing you, isn’t it!

  74. 74
    Macy Says:

No, spelling mistakes kill me, especially ones that are lazy in nature. If I was the spokesperson for Lancome shouldn’t I be careful to spell it correctly. I would think Lancome would probably think so.

  75. 75
    What A Surprise Says:

Wouldn’t you know Lois has been MIA on this thread and all of a sudden we get her post two minutes before Macy’s posts. Not too transparent.

  76. 76
    ladybug Says:

@Gemma: Oh, the ‘flawless’ stuff is just PR, and I think even Marie Claire knows that. It’s just following with the stereotypical ass-kissing that seems so prevalent in the fashion press.

“After all, you know best!”. Aw, sarcasm! Except it’s not about ‘know(ing) best’. It’s knowing what the word means and what the pics show. Her pics do not show a flawless complexion. Not anymore.

“It’s killing you!” Ah, the jealousy claim! Try something new.

I find it interesting that her fans cannot allow themselves to admit to Kate having any flaw whatsoever: her skin must be ‘flawless’, she must be a wonderful actress and always have great fashion sense. Everyone must adore her. And if they don’t it must be because we’re the jealous ones.

Except the KB you’re a fan of doesn’t exist, not in this universe, she’s a flawed human being, and doesn’t have perfect skin, nor perfect fashion sense, nor is she the world’s greatest actress and no, most people don’t adore her.

The question I have for you is: Why do you think she has to be perfect? Do think you can only like what you’ve put into your mind as perfect? Does her not really being that well liked outside that fashion circle shake your faith, makes you question your judgment? Do you think “I’m a nice person, I could never like a famewhore, I’m better than that.” But, it’s not as if you’re friends with her, you just like the way she dresses and you think she’s pretty. She doesn’t have to be ‘perfect’ for that.

I think part of the reason I don’t like her isn’t even her, it’s fans like you and Tulip and Fashionista going on and on about how ‘flawless’ she is. It’s rather like reading a fashion fan version of Fox news, where’s there’s an entirely different world from the real one.

No, you don’t like it when we insult her, but reacting as if she’s perfect continues to bring about that reaction, sorry.

  77. 77
    Macy Says:

    @What A Surprise:
    Nope, nice try though.

  78. 78
    ladybug Says:

@Macy: I find it funny that a ‘new’ poster name shows up and claims that everyone who isn’t nice to KB is really the same person. Projection?

  79. 79
    Flare Says:

Is “Homefront” based on a novel?

  80. 80
    What A Surprise Says:

Not everyone. I just pointed out Lois and Macy are the same person.

  81. 81
    Lois Says:

    @What A Surprise:

Really, Molish? We’re all different people with different writing styles unlike tulip, fashionista and her nom du jour.

  82. 82
    ladybug Says:

@Flare: There’s no mention of it being based on a novel, or a real life story.

@Lois: I think considering the style of writing and certain use of phrases/questions that we have at least one person posting under different names.

  83. 83
    Flare Says:

@ladybug: Thanks. Hope it’s a good flick. I like the casting. Very interesting.

  84. 84
    Macy Says:

That was well said! Like I said on another post, it just floors me that people are that obtuse. Nobody is flawless or problem free. For the life of me, I can’t understand why people like Tulip, Fashionista, etc don’t even consider the possibility that Kate is a human being and therefor has FLAWS. She plays the game just like any other actor who has lost a certain amount of their fame. Their completely naive to think otherwise. You’re right, that’s one of the things that is most irritating. That and demanding proof when there is none ever offered up in return for their remarks.

    @What A Surprise:
Like I already said, nope. Good try though. Lois uses completely different phrasing than me. There are lots of people that post with different names, and it’s usually easy to tell because they use the same phrasing, misspell the same words over and over, etc. That’s not happening here, but it’s nice to pretend on your part I guess.

  85. 85
    Tulip Says:

    @Lois: Give me a break.
@ladybug: Post 57 was meant as a compliment.

  86. 86
    Blackcat9 Says:

    @Tulip: Lame!Really Lame!

  87. 87
    ladybug Says:

@Flare: I actually don’t find the plot that interesting, which doesn’t mean that it’ll suck. But it’s got Statham in it, presumable kicking butt, so it’s already got a built in audience.

    @Macy, I’ve stated before, I don’t hate KB. Obviously I don’t like her, but I don’t hate her.
The whole ‘flawless’ thing also comes out in the fashion press, and it isn’t any less annoying or unhelpful coming from there, no matter who they’re talking about. It’s a weird mentality.

As for the famewhoring, yes, she has to promote herself. But, like Hudgens, or Alba or whomever, she’s too obvious about it.

  88. 88
    Macy Says:

Agreed. We’ve said before she isn’t the devil, but at the same time, she’s not overly likeable either.

  89. 89
    lord Says:

OMG i dont know how sad this could get

Polish just posted the trailer for Big Sur on twitter….did it not get picked up by a distributor???

Didn’t he tweet about it going to Cannes?? there have been so many festivals why didn’t he submit the film??

  90. 90
    Wow Says:

    Holy $hit. Now that’s a trailer! Sensational!
I wouldn’t be surprised with On The Road – bigger movie and much bigger budget – on the festival circuit, they decided to hold off. I’m all about Jack Kerouac and this looks great.

  91. 91
    Lois Says:

I guess they decided not to do the festival circuit for the same reason Lurie did with Straw Dogs.

  92. 92
    ladybug Says:

@lord: He did back in January. I think he’s mentioned Sundance now.

He was still editing at the time of Cannes.

And yes, there could be multiple reasons why it took him nearly a year to complete and then to go to festivals, perhaps as Wow wrote, the decision not to compete against another Kerouac film. Or as Lois wrote, he’s going to the Lurie route. (shrugs)

  93. 93
    Alexandra Says:

@lord: You mentioned the Big Sur teaser trailer. Here’s the link:
It’s pretty amazing. I’ll be going to this one.

  94. 94
    mforman Says:

That trailer is such a joke. How many more times is he going too mention another festival and then not go. Something is definitely up with this film, just like Straw Dogs.
Next he will start begging for people to go to see it like Lurie did.
Of course, he had to make sure he threw in those “artisic” shots of the creature, looking all innocent. Give me a break.
Let us not forget the creture heads to New Orleans to begin shooting her next great film role, as a drug addict, what a perfect part for her, talk about perfect casting.

Beautiful, artistic. Looks like a cinematic ode to Big Sur, CA.

“Homefront” looks like it could be a great romp.
    “Big Sur” looks achingly beautiful.

@EJP: The scenery shots are very nice. The rest if it … meh. But then I’m not a Kerouac fan, so I’m probably not the intended audience.

    Tulip Says:

@FilmBuff: Achingly beautiful is a good way to describe the Big Sur trailer. It was close to the end of Jack Kerouac’s life.
@ladybug: I think Kerouac with his narrative and run-on sentences and subject matter appeals to a specific audience. He’s not for everyone but he’s fascinating in that he was at the forefront of the whole beat generation and all that followed.

    Tulip Says:

@Flare: Apparently “Homefront” is based on a novel:
“Based on the book by Chuck Logan and adapted for the screen in a script by Sylvester Stallone. . . .”

    ladybug Says:

@Tulip: Would have been nice for the author if THR had put that in the original article.

I suppose at some point I’ll try reading Kerouac again.

Did anyone else notice that Flare #83 and Tulip #85 used the exact”@ladybug:” phrasing? Seems odd but then again, Tulip said the last time she was caught using multiple names that she was posting to her friend and accidently reposted here..blah, blah, blah

  102. 102
    Tulip Says:

@Lois: I’m not Flare and I don’t know what you’re talking about. When a post is directed at someone almost all posters write @whomever:
And I didn’t use a different name when I copied and pasted a link to something. What pasted was a previous link I copied. That happens. Lois, you’re the one who uses multiple names!

    Jules Says:

How is JFK pretentious when he is asked by the media to talk about himself in articles, mags, etc? They ask him questions about himself and what he is doing. You only know him from his public persona and what he says in interviews-what is he supposed to talk about-the weather?? He doesn’t seem that comfortable to me when talking about himself. You don’t know a person from interview clips or Internet articles. He does things that he enjoys and is he is knowledgable. He isn’t any different that he was a few yrs ago just the media has changed in how it portrays him.
    Never understood all the haters….
Must be jealousy b/c he has the $ to do projects that he wants and he is hot as hell.
