Jennifer Lawrence Lip-Syncs in 'House At The End of the Street' Music Video

The internet was all abuzz earlier today about Jennifer Lawrence‘s singing voice in her new flick House At The End of the Street – but it turns out she was never singing in the first place!

While the 22-year-old actress did record a version of the song “All You’ve Gotta Do Is Fall In Love” for the film, “the filmmakers dubbed in a version from session musician Sarah Rayne,” according to Variety‘s Showblitz.

Jennifer‘s version “wasn’t half bad and nearly made the cut, but filmmakers felt Rayne‘s sound fit the scene and character better,” a source told the trade.

shes a GREAT actress! why should she be expected to sing too?? MOST singers dont even sing they lipsync

# 5

@SHAY BEAR: Well, Most actors are expected to sing because it makes them more versatile and able to play different roles.
Its kind of stupid that they re making her lipsync just for a dumb music video

Well how could “Rayne‘s sound fit the scene and character better” than Jennifer’s since she is the one playing the character ?

It happens to the best of us Jen.

Im not sure I believe this ‘source’. the singing voice sounds ALOT like J.L. Until producers confirm Im going with JL singing.

She is a talented actress, but a terrible singer and the worst playing the guitar.

OMG! Jennifer as a singer sucks

Honey. If you can’t play the guitar, don’t do it. The video proves it.

She dosn’t have a good talking voice so why would she have a good singing voice. Her voice is terrible

Came upon this, and i grew up with jennifer and have sang with her in a choir. That is her actual voice, and she might not be able to sing the actual guitar, but she is NOT lip singing.

That is definately Sarah Rayne”s voice! Lovely and passionate! No one sounds like Sarah!

what was the song she was singing when she was practicing with the band?

LOL Jennifer is an AWFUL singer, she admits it herself in interviews (and proves it in The Poker House). Misrepresenting her as a good singer or even as a vocalist comparable to Sarah Rayne was just a ploy to make her seem more talented by her PR people. Good actress, yes – way, way overrated thanks to good press? YES.
