“This movie is in support of organized protest and the power that it can have. You can be absolutely supportive of unions in general, which I think have served our country so well, and at the same time believe that there are things inside this particular union that need to shift in order for our children to get the things that they need,” Maggie shared with Entertainment Tonight.

That bra under the violet dress looks bad. And these shoes matched with elegant skirt and silk blouse. Her style was always weird.

Don’t be stupid. Attack her on the issues, if you disagree, not because she has money.

@SHARE BEAR: i agree with you but that’s an insult to joan cusack!

Wow, surprised to hear a lefty like her say that about the unions. I agree with her, though. The unions only care about their members; that’s their purpose. They don’t really care about what’s best for our kids or education.

I love Maggie, though. I’ll see anything with her in it.

you numbnuts have to realize she’s part of a union the Screen Actors Guild otherwise she wouldn’t be a big star. also it’s because of the democratic party that there is unions in the first place. she’s cut from the same cloth as Joan Cusack and before her Joanne Woodward who even at her advanced age is still involved in political endevors both local [westport Connecticut] regional New England & federal campaigning for Obama and issues such as restoration of art/music programs in public schools better pay for teachers research into autism and cancer particularly

She’s 34? Looks 50

OH! Don’t even get me started! Yes, the point of teacher unions are to protect the rights and labor practices of teachers. Just like the SAG protects the rights and labor practices of actors and every other union out there that protects and stands up for the workers they represent. Are there bad teachers? Sure. JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER JOB OUT THERE, there are going to be people who should not be in the position they are in. Teachers who are not doing their job should be fired. A teacher’s union works to ensure a due process is followed to protect those who are fired under false allegations, evaluations, etc. To generalize and stereotype teacher unions in a negative light is ignoring the multitude of issues affecting public education, especially in neighborhoods and communities that are targeted by “reform” groups like Students First (those in urban and low income neighborhoods). Instead of focusing on privatizing public education, we should be working on coming together (including students, parents, teachers, administrators, districts…EVERYONE) to help the communities grow and thrive, and NOT just place blame.

What a brave, brave soul she is, standing up to the true bullys in the “education” system and America. Hats off to all those involved in this film. Now brace yourselves for the non-stop “you’re waging a war on the middle class” demonization (at its best), and death threats (at its worst), from these oh so “tolerant” and “open-minded” “progressives.” http://goo.gl/UY0PM
