It was recently announced that Katy will accept Billboard’s Woman of the Year Award at the 2012 Billboard Women in Music event taking place on Friday, November 30 in New York City.
This award honors the achievements of a trailblazing female recording artist over the past twelve months, and acknowledges her overall success in the music business and her leadership in embracing the changing industry.

Katy is very talented,she has voice,and is very funny and beautiful.
How is she woman of the year? She hasn’t done anything to win the award (unless this is an award bought for the artist).
If anyone should’ve won it should’ve been Adele since she 1)won 6 grammys in one night (the most for any female to win) and 2) her album stays in the top 10 or top 15 on the charts and should have already went diamond or is on it’s way (the only person to sell as much as she has in the past 3 years heck probably 5 years).
