“This experience has profoundly affected me,” Eva recently told People about a trip to Sierra Leone. “I was so shocked and saddened to learn the extent of gender-based violence taking place in Sierra Leone every day and that trip has made me want to be a part of the solution.”

Eva recently had a television special, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, air where she spoke to survivors about the violence in order to raise awareness.

You have got to be kidding me.

“Yes, every time I pose all sexy in these expensive clothes, I think about all the gender based violence going on in other countries.”

Uhh – yeah – that’s really working for me…

She looks great in the first two pictures but her participation in Half the Sky seemed pretty fake to me. I saw Holy Motors and absolutely loved the movie. She does not speak in her small role, only sings a lullaby, but it is the most hilarious part of movie.

Sierra Leone is a PR move darling, we all know you care too much about yourself, being pretty and being sexy that is all.

# 7

Let me laugh, like she cares about Sierra Leone.
Otherwise she looks good (except for the open mouth pose and that Givenchy tshirt that I hate)

She soudns like she’s reading from a script in the interview. Very not her!

I think she wants to improver her image, because she knows most of Ryan’s fans don’t like her. And it’s not because of jealousy, it’s because of her demeanor and how she treats people. She seems very fake to me. Nothing genuine about her.

ha… haha! Like she gives a sh!t about anyone but herself. She thinks the world revolves around her and her “career.” Also, AWFUL cover.

She can fix problems in Sierra Leone, why didn’t anyone else think of that? Her morning coffee getting skills will be of such use out there.

@Anna:

Holy Motors is indeed a great, great movie! One of the best I have seen in recent times. I hope Denis Lavant, the lead actor, who is BRILLIANT in it, gets a lot exposure from this, as he deserves it! How about an Oscar nomination?
Regarding Eva Mendes, who based her career on perpetuating an objectified sex symbol – and now wants to speak on gender based violence …. really???……….. but whatever.

@Chloe: Denis Lavant is absolutely amazing. Have you seen “The lovers on the bridge” (Les amants du Pont-Neuf )? He deserves an oscar nomination. That’s for sure! I think Eva was well casted for that role.

a cUBAN MAN IN DRAG!

Ever since I watched that movie “Last Night” this woman has become unbearable for me. Really can’t stand her.

more like Trashy Paris.

Seriously? @ 10/10/2012 at 12:25 pm

when is she going to realize she’s never going to be Angelina, or Charlize, or any other actress that is sexy but doesn’t use sex as their image. What she needs to realize is these women have something that she’ll never have, and that is talent.

IMO all this woman ever does is play is an airhead, or a character that is known for being hot or sexy and little else. And that’s all she knows how to play. To me she will forever be the bimbo in Stuck On You that yells “Oh my God you guys are stuck together” or whatever the line was.

She needs to stop trying so hard, and trying to play more than what she’s been playing in films. Reading how she auditioned and prepped for her role in Place Beyond the Pines is hysterical to me. And the way she talks about wanting to be like Julianne Moore and Annette Benning, she sounds like an up and coming actress around the age of Selena Gomez not a grown woman.

And her talking about how hard it was for her to be nude in We Own The Night? Give me a break. If she doesn’t ‘t feel comfortable doing nude scenes to the point she needs to get liquored up, she shouldn’t have taken it, but wait, she posed completely nude for Calvin Klein. I think she says it’s hard for her because she doesn’t want her mother to know she actually enjoys it.

Which I think makes her comments on gender based violence more about her “look at me, and look how important I am” and less about the issue at hand.

This woman is a walking talking contradiction

I hate the stuff that comes out of this woman’s mouth. She’s not the brightest crayon in the box. I especially hated her comments some years back about how being so beautiful is a burden and people don’t take her seriously enough. Give me a break.

GOD and the baby Jesus….Has no one commented on the fact that she has a raving rabid cur on her t-shirt?.
Eva I thought you had more sense, considering you and Ryan love your George and Hugo soooo much!!!
I myself would have thought you would have not condoned such a photo.
What you do not realise is that the picture of the rabid rottweiler on your t-shirt distracts the viewer from your gorgeous face!!!
Just so you know.
You are still my favorite and I love the fact that you are trying so hard to be less of a princess and more like a queen.
Viva Eva!

I’m sorry for all my previous hateful comments about Eva. I wish her the best.
