Black Girls Rock Awards Show???? Sooooo racist. Time for White Girls Awards Show. I can hear the complaints already…
Homewreckers unite!
@Mika: @Mika: white people have the oscars, the Emmys, golden globes stop complaining ok Hollywood is not fair to minority actors so they need to acknowledge their own because Hollywood doesnt
Gabby is beautiful but looks a little o goth in these pics
Gabbi is 40…omg, she looks so young
I thought they wanted to be called African Americans. When that twit Halle Berry accepted her Oscar, she said it was a great step forward for “women of color.” I hate it when she lumps all colored people together. Asians are nothing like Africans. In the Caribbean, East Indians and Africans hate each other. There’s a historic animosity between them.
Pretty ones…
Uhmm what hell? Alicia keys is half white. Why does she try to make it seem like she’s full black?!!
@Ash: well apparently you guys in america consider every woman that is half black , black …
But she is part of it too ! And you don’t need to be full black to attend this event !
I’m not quite understanding why there is a black girl rocks award show but I’m happy for the winners. Seems to me colored and white are included in oscars, grammys, or whatever. If we all want to be treated equal, why do we keep making differences? Anyway I love Alicia got the inspiration award but she should win that no matter what her race.

Gabrielle Union look Fab for turning 40 wow
All this black/white bs wouldn’t be an issue if racebaiters and Obama hadn’t played the race and class warfare cards us, as Americans we need to heal after he retires to that Oahu estate come January the Pritzkers are buying for him.
@terse: Women of color is a term of solidarity.
All this black/white bs wouldn’t be an issue if racebaiters and Obama hadn’t played the race and class warfare cards on us, as Americans we need to heal after he retires to that Oahu estate come January the Pritzkers are secretly buying for him.
All of these women are simply GORGEOUS!!!
These girls are beautiful and awesome. Why does everything have to be a stupid argument. Also as a black woman I like to see more positive events like this since women of colour are often not portrayed in the best light.
Love seeing beautiful, positive, talented black women together!
I just KNEW there would be ignorant comments. Whites have just about EVERYTHING yet when black people or any other minority wants to support their own, they cry it’s racist. I love the hypocrisy.
@Sonya i don’t think you’re quite understanding this situation. Women of color, especially black women, have always been put to the side and under appreciated when it comes to hollywood. this award show is about celebrating the triumphs of those women who were/are being put to the side.
and just so you know this whole “everybody should be equal, we shouldn’t separate ourselves” bullsh*t is cute, but it’s not realistic. yes, equality is what we should striving for but the last thing we should do is ignore what’s right in front of us. and what’s right in front of us is the simple fact that it’s extremely f*cking difficult for people of color, specifically women of color, to be successful in an industry that tells us we’re not wanted.
Beautiful women. Also, Gabrielle Union must be a vampire because she looks like she’s barely a day over 21.
Weird award show for this day and age. Lame.
@Elena: @<
No, I'm not understanding and I do think it is realistic.
@Sonya so we should put the struggles of PoC in hollywood aside and act like it doesn’t exist just so we can pretend to be “equal”? and yes, it’s PRETEND because we all damn well know that actors of color get sh*t on in this industry (wether you choose to acknowledge it or not.)
NO. White hollywood doesn’t just get to f*ck with us, not give actors of color a chance, pretend that we’re crazy and delusional when we bring it up, and then sh*t on us when we try and celebrate what we’ve done in this industry, despite people like you who believe we’ve been given the same opportunities. Nope. Not going to happen.
Check your f*cking privilege.
