Brad Pitt Donates $100,000 to the Human Rights Campaign for Marriage Equality

Brad Pitt has just generously offered to donate $100,000 to the Human Rights Campaign to support efforts in campaigning for marriage equality.

“It’s unbelievable to me that people’s lives and relationships are literally being voted on in a matter of days,” Brad wrote on the HRC‘s website.

“In Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington, voters will go to the polls to decide if gay and lesbian couples – our friends and neighbors – are worthy of the same protections as everyone else,” Brad added. “But that’s the system we have and I’m not going to back down from the fight for loving and committed couples to have the ability to marry. Especially when groups like the Human Rights Campaign are fighting these battles day-in and day-out.”

“If you’re like me, you don’t want to have to ask yourself on the day after the election, what else could I have done?” he added to People.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Brad Pitt’s donation?

    There are always going to be those who use religion or personal beliefs as a means to deny someone else their basic human rights. Just as there will always be the trolls/haters on this thread whom hate others, specifically, Brad and Angelina for being the generous and compassionate people that they are, and, living beautiful and full lives. But, the one thing that haters/trolls can not stop is life, it finds a way. So no matter how long it takes or how hard things may seem life PROGRESSES. Good job Brad for being a good and kind HUMAN being.

    These Hollywood celebs think they’re all that and that EVERYONE is going to vote the way THEY do. Surprise! Some of us don’t give a crap what you think, Brad. You want to raise “genderless” children and vote for gay marriage? Well go ahead, that’s your right. But don’t try to push your Hollywood elitist attitude on the rest of us. We can vote just fine without you trying to “impress” us with your tax deductible donations!! What a shame you didn’t feel as much “passion” about how you were hurting your WIFE when you were banging Jolie!!!!

    I see the troll has once again beat the fans to the new thread. Brad’s dedicated the last 5 years to helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina and still the troll has the nerve to biitch about where he chooses to donate other monies. This donation was made BEFORE HURRICANE SANDY hit, ya dimwit! Ergo there were no relief efforts to donate to. Honest to God…these kneejerk reactions without bothering to think it through – if they can – have gotten to be so freakin’ pathetic. Brad and Angie give more money and time to their causes than the trolls who sit around badmouthing them, which, admittedly, ain’t that hard to do because the trolls aren’t giving anything but grief to Brad and Angie. Lame ass losers.

    ~~~ do u even read the stuff you cc and paste? you last ccp paragraph….’They see everyone as their enemy because of their feelings of worthlessness, inferiority, and negative emotions. Most of this group are the type of people who regularly cut or self-harm, are loners who listen to anti-social music (punk / loud aggressive heavy metal), or are part of the ‘emo’ or ‘Goth’ community’
    …..hahahahaa sounds like your precious idol angleiron to me. she has no friends, she has a history of cutting herself and hiring a hitman to kill herself and she certainly played the role of dark badass antisocial misfit to her emo goth fans of which she has many. brangeloon=troll.
    ‘Trolls should be banned from the internet, and made to attend classes for their ‘mental health issues’, and be made to discuss why they feel the need to upset / harass / defame / belittle people online….they vent their frustration by attacking other people online. You will find these types of trolls often post the most violent or abusive posts, mostly towards women because of their sexual inadequacy.’
    ~~ hahahahaah, countdown 3-2-1 to loons doing this to jennifer aniston on this brad pitt thread!!! wait for it,wait for it, here it comes…..3,2,1… ~~
    groundcontrol Says:
    Well, I think it’s time to clear the homophobes off the thread.
    Human rights and equal protection IS an economic issue. The depth of ignorance on this thread is mind boggling.
    And for those suffering from inequal treatment in our society there is no insurance against it like there is for hurricane damage. There will be no telethons for them to repair the human damage suffered through the years.
    KUDOS to Brad for his effective and timely generosity annd support of such an important issue as the human rights of his fellow citizens. The warped and hateful thinking exhibited by the radical right and fundamentalists is a scary and unAmerican phenomemon.
    As for the juveniles who are obsessed with the Jolie Pitts and every breath they take, well, they are as intelligent as gnats in a hurricane.
