Chris Brown: Gaining Respect Back is a Humbling Experience

Chris Brown stops by the Supper Club’s Halloween costume party, Freak Fest, on Tuesday (October 30) in Los Angeles.

The 23-year-old singer recently gave an interview to MTV’s This Is How I Made It, where he explained how his assault charge changed him as a person.

“To get personal opinion back and having to gain personal success back, you know, it’s not all the way back you know. But it’s one of my most humbling experiences,” Chris said. “My story or my life or my legacy can hopefully show them that once you’re down, that don’t just mean you’re down forever. You never let up.”

Chris‘ full interview airs on Saturday at 12pm EST on MTV.

    Triangle Says:

He wants to gain our respect back, so he dresses like a terrorist for Halloween. Solid logic.

    Amanda Says:

He was ‘down’ because he beat the crap out of Rihanna. I hardly see how this makes him the one deserving of any respect or forgiveness. No one is going to learn about humility from this man. If anything young people will think that they can be forgiven for using violence against another human being and that’s just disgusting. This man doesn’t deserve an ounce of success.

    Yawn Fest Says:

Remember this guy tried to throw a chair out the window of a high rise immediately after an interview? Can you say ‘Moron’?

    foo Says:

he can have that back, he’s just doing it wrong, tryna get cool with his “victim”. that doesn’t work. is he blind? she’s the same lame tryna do it like that. for real. he was really fine moving on and doing his thing with karrueche and make “forget”. but i guess the “no attention” he got wasn’t enough for him and his momager and they messed it up greedy as they are. who doesn’t know that what’s in her head? damn idiots.

now shut the f*ck up. that neverending stunt is played out.

    Moana Says:

Who respects him? Seriously…raise your hand.

    Carol Says:

Smug, ill educated, clueless idiot. No one is interested in your excuses.

    mimi Says:

“To get personal opinion back and having to gain personal success back” Try not dressing up as a terrorist for halloween.

    Kelly Says:

JJ, can you please stop posting ANYTHING about him? He’s a woman beater and wants to dress like a mass murderer. This site is better than to keep posting his picture!

    dani Says:

To earn respect back, one has to be genuinely remorseful in words and actions and so far Chris Brown is falling short in both categories.

    andy Says:

beating a woman and dressing up as a taliban ? not gaining my respect back

  14. 14
    amanda Says:

It would help if you weren’t such a douche who beats a woman and dresses as a terrorist for Halloween…you have to give respect to get it

  15. 15
    DB Says:

He beats on Rihanna, acts all arrogant and put upon about it, freaks out on GMA, goes shirtless and breaking things after running out on the interview, treats his girlfriend like crap while re-pursuing Rihanna and dresses like a member of the Taliban.

How can anybody take this jerk seriously, much less try to support him in any way?

He’s NON-REPENTANT for the wrongs he commits, and his pattern of behavior continues to show this.

What The Heck people? How can you not see this guy is a scumbag?

Don’t even consider forgiving him until he actually CHANGES for the positive, instead of trying to ACT like he’s some nice guy after all.

    Freakin’ gullible planet…

    Prezes Says:

How can you talk about being humble ant then move to discussing your so called “legacy” ? Especially when you’re 23 years old.

  17. 17
    betty Says:

To you haters He has music in the top ten so someone likes him and buys his music. On Halloween you can dress as you like, terrorist, murderer, thief, devil or in drag if you choose. If YOU don’t like him so what that doesn’t stop others from liking him.

  18. 18
    DB Says:

@betty: He stops others from liking him by beating on a woman and acting like it’s no big deal, and that all the uproar is just an annoying inconvenience.

    It’s on HIM, not us.

    The DL Says:

    He on the DL anyway

  20. 20
    betty Says:

@DB He know what he did and he is still paying the price . Rihanna forgave him and moved on. She was not guiltless either but he should not put his hands on her.He is still a young man with a lot to learn and you don’t know his personal feelings about it.
