    tsquared Says:

You obviously are not of the film world. First why should NIcole be the one to stay home. She is talented and still has a lot to offer. Secondly most film studios have an attached day care or allow caregivers on set. Thirdly, when you film, normally you are not on film all day. You can go for hours sitting in your trailer until they need you. This is why it can be a great profession for parents–you can take your child to work and spend significant time with them when you aren’t “on.” Katie Holmes does it all the time. And Nicole has said she takes the kids to the set with her. So if you have an 8-10 hour day, she may only be on set for 2-4 hours and on call for the rest of the time.
There are a lot of women who work 8-10 hours a day because they have to and would give a lot to be able to have an onsite day care or some breaks where they could see their kids.
And oh, by the way, Nicole makes more than Urban. So why shouldn’t he stay home and take care of the kids?
And yes, you are old fashioned.
Sunday and Faith look well adjusted and well loved in spite of *gasp* their mom working.

    Arius Says:

Nitwit? Wow. Mothers are more nurturing. Typically. That’s why historically men go out to work while women raise kids. They carry their babies and nurse them. They are better at nurturing. Usually. I’m sorry if my opinion offends you. That’s all it is. Name calling though?

    reser Says:

Nice try. We’re all still waiting for one if you to say the world doesn’t need any more Keith Urban music.

  4. 29
    Arius Says:

They look well adjusted? As if you can see inside them and a few pap shots tell you anything about their emotional well being? But okay. If she is only away from them for a couple hours a day, that’s not bad. If that’s the case.
Working mothers typically work full time because they have to. Polls have shown that most would choose part time or not at all. It’s not easy or desirable to leave your children for many hours every day. It goes against human nature.

    W.O.W. Says:

The Urbans certainly have the most deranged fans of the lot!!

(Unless of course, it is her PR team working overtime. Most likely!)

The truth of the matter is that Kidman is completely incongruent. What comes out of her mouth in no way at all matches her actions. She is a bold-faced liar.

THAT is why so many people simply don’t like her. No matter how beautiful or supposedly classy she is.

    End of story.

  6. 31
    Orwell Says:

@Arius: You hate women, don’t you? Based on what you said, a woman isn’t allowed to have a career. A woman isn’t allowed to have a passion. A woman isn’t allowed to have ambition. A woman who wants to work is “selfish”. A woman has to stay at home and raise the children while her husband go and live his dreams. Um, are you a mormon, perhaps?
You say the world doesn’t need more Nicole Kidman movies. Well I’m a fan of Kidman’s work and I’m glad she keeps on working. Do you think the world needs more Keith Urban music? And I agree with tsquared. From every pictures I’ve seen, Sunday and Faith look like well adjusted, happy kids. What you said about someone else raising them is incredibly cruel and just shows how nasty and judgemental you are.

  7. 32
    Orwell Says:

@W.O.W.: Hi, psycho. Yes, you’re right. Nicole Kidman is the devil incarnate. Because she stole the man you fantasize about. And yes, I’m from her PR team. You’re a genius.

  8. 33
    Arius Says:

I dont hate women. What an assumption. I simply think young children should have a stay at home mother in the ideal world. The Urbans dont need more money like most families. She works for purely selfish reasons. Am I wrong? I think motherhood is in itself a full time job when the kids are young. She pays people to care for her kids. Like I said, a couple hours a day isn’t bad, but I feel it may be considerably more. What about alone time with Keith and all the exercise and manicures and other cosmetic maintenance she needs? I bet it’s more than a couple hours a day.

  9. 34
    reser Says:

The more you post the more this facade of concern for their kids oeels right off. That’s why you and the couple of others that try to post under different names are nitwits. You think you’re fooling everyone when you’re fooling no one.

  10. 35
    Orwell Says:

@Arius: My “assumption” comes from the fact that you only criticize Nicole and say nothing about Keith. Shoudn’t he stay at home and raise the kids? Nicole is far more famous than he is. She’s an international superstar. And one of the very best and most in-demand actresses in the world. Why doesn’t he stop making music? After all, who needs another Keith Urban album? Nicole has a passion for acting, just like Keith has a passion for music. They both are passionate, talented and hard-working people. They set a good example for their daughters. And you don’t know how much time they spend with them so stop making judgements based on nothing.

  11. 36
    Arius Says:

Women are more nurturing and better caretakers. Natures way. That is why I’m not suggesting that any man stop working. I’m not exactly impressed with his priorities. Hey, whatever. They can do as they please and they clearly do. I’m just not impressed with her and I’m sure nobody here cares what my opinion is. She can do no wrong in your eyes. Short of murder, I doubt you would fault her for anything. I don’t understand that type of fanaticism.
I got a call today. It was a recording by Clint Eastwood about politics. I guess there are people that idolize and can have their opinions swayed by celebs. I’m not one of them.

  12. 37
    Arius Says:

I’m not trying to fool anyone. Your name calling continues? I don’t hate Nicole. I don’t hate people I don’t even know. I simply don’t agree with her choice. She may be a very nice person and maybe she will never regret her decision. Maybe.

  13. 38
    Eve Says:

Quote: Short of murder, I doubt you would fault her for anything.

lol How many times has a skeptic used that line? Reser, Orwell, tsquared, you aren’t going to get anywhere with this one.

  14. 39
    Arius Says:

Get anywhere? As in, change my mind? I can say the same. I don’t expect to. You find my quote funny? Consider the validity as well. Or, debate it.

  15. 40
    Jill Says:

@Arius you are an ignorant, backward, misogynistic fool.

  16. 41
    Arius Says:

Ignorant? Of what facts? How can my opinion of the best way to raise kids be considered misogynistic? That makes no sense. To attack someone for believing that mothers should be home with their young children is, well – low class. Think what you want. Attack as much as it takes to make you feel better. Your opinion of me means nothing. If you felt comfortable with your opinions, mine wouldn’t make you act so childishly.

  17. 42
    Jill Says:

@Arius As I said, and I’m perfectly comfortable saying it, your opinion on mothers is ignorant, backward, and misogynistic. All mothers should have the choice and freedom to raise their children as they feel is best for them and their families. You do not get a vote.

  18. 43
    Lori Says:

Nicole and Keith are soooo in love with each other and it seems to bother some people, why ?????????????

  19. 44
    Arius Says:

I never said they shouldn’t have a choice. Of course they should be free to do as they please. I’m not advocating that a law be passed. Another crazy assumption.

And again, ignorant of what facts? Or, cant you answer that? You are great at throwing insults. How about some substance ?

  20. 45
    Shelby Says:

Can I chime in? I am a stay at home Mom and I also think it is best for children or I wouldn’t have made that choice. Staying home with young kiddies is hard work and not very glamorous, but totally worth the sacrifice. You get to shape their values and keep them safe as well as form a deep bond. I know many kids in the district who go home to an empty house after school and they get in lots of trouble with smoking, drugs and sex. Its good that rich people can afford supervision if nothing else. I am not ignorant or a woman hater. That was uncalled for. Maybe if I were an actress with the ability to make millions I would have a hard time quitting. LOL. That wont happen so I will never know.

  21. 46
    answer Says:

Nicole herself has said that it wouldn’t bother her if she never made (or rather, acted in) another movie ever again, as she said she found it hard to be dragged out of her nest (her words), and that it would have to be a very important and meaningful film to drag her out. Words to that effect. So far her choices do not strike me as important enough to leave your young children for long stretches of time; or to drage them out of their familiar surroundings. Throughout the making of a film, actors remain very focussed on their character etc so it is an easy assumption to make that the children lose out on some level. Nicole has said also that she is more tired and has less stamina than in her twenties (obviously), so why not give it a break? She has also said that she never wants her children to ask: where is my mom? (words to that effect); maybe by that she meant that they should always know where she is; even if she is not with them. This comment has got nothing to do with Keith. Nicole has also said that when she is in her seventies and eighties, she wants to be surrounded by her children. Well, Nicole, you get what you give; good luck!

PS; it is possible to debate or argue without slinging abuse and sick names at people. Try some of the class that you recognise in others.

    chris Says:

Keith is not “beautiful”. He’s wrinkled and is balding.

  23. 48
    Orwell Says:

@Shelby: Good for you. Any woman is free to raise her children in whatever manner she chooses . Saying or implying that Nicole Kidman is a bad mother because she works, like Arius did, is absolutely disgusting.

  24. 49
    Orwell Says:

@answer: Hi, psycho! May I just remind you that you don’t even know how much time she spends with her kids every day. So what the h*ll are you talking about? Also hasn’t Keith Urban himself said that Nicole is a fantastic mother?
And I love how you seem to think Nicole Kidman reads your nasty comments. It shows how crazy and obsessed you are (I quote you : “Well, Nicole, you get what you give; good luck!”). Hilarious.

    Arius Says:

    Voice of reason. Thank you.
