Check out Ryan Gosling sporting a battered face in this new promo poster for his film Only God Forgives.

The flick follows Julian (Gosling), who runs a Thai boxing club as a front organization for his family’s drug smuggling operation, as he is forced by his mother Jenna (Kristin Scott Thomas) to find and kill the individual responsible for his brother’s recent death.

Only God Forgives is directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, who Ryan previously worked with on the cult hit Drive.
