David Beckham Ends Los Angeles Galaxy Career

David Beckham announces his departure from the Los Angeles Galaxy as a player after the MLS Cup during a press conference on Tuesday (November 20) at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

“In my time here I have seen the popularity of the game grow every year,” the 37-year-old soccer star said. “I’ve been fortunate to win trophies, but more important to me has been the fantastic reception I’ve had from fans in L.A. and across the States. Soccer’s potential has no limits in this wonderful country and I want to always be part of growing it.”

David‘s last competitive game with the Galaxy will be on December 1, but he has said he hopes to continue with the team in an ownership role.

# 3

no tenía que haber dejado el real madrid, pero como a la petarda de la mujer se le puso entre ceja y ceja ser una celebrity en hollywood… a la mierda la carrera futbolistica

# 4

Retire already, so we don’t have to hear about you as much!

# 5

Retards some of you……..The game vs
Seattle a few days ago was attended by 44,000 fans

# 6

Major League soccer had a better average attendance than the NBA on 2011…. Soccer in general is the most widely played sport in America.

#2 – Erm the Spice Girls could not get 44,000 fans in Seattle or anywhere else in America one one night!

I think people underestimate how big soccer is over here. Sure, it might not be as big as most parts of Europe and South America, but soccer is a major sport in America right now and will continue to grow. Like mentioned above, soccer is the most widely played sport here. Most high schools have at least a soccer team than a basketball or football team.

Anyways, we’ll miss you David!!

Good looking man & a talented player.Too bad he talks like a girl.
I guess Victoria doesn’t mind. I noticed a lot of English guys sound effeminate even on British soaps.

soccer is really like a girls sport anyway and when did beckhams play here, did he start yet ?

Great …now go home!

@flicker: It’s the BPA in our food system.

Beckham is one of the dullest men in the world.

why is he leaving the team? was his contract up or is this all of a sudden?

Yep, It would’ve been better, if he had stayed in Real Madrid… I don’t think soccer players can get better in the States, but well,.. he’s already 37 years old, if he’s good i think he can play for at least one more year, but where??? Where is he going to play now??..

The chavtastic shoes & socks are my fav part.
