Angus T. Jones: I Don't Want to Be on 'Two and a Half Men'

Angus T. Jones has spoken out against his hit CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men and has expressed his desire to leave the show.

“Jake from Two and a Half Men means nothing. He is a non-existent character,” the 19-year-old actor said in a video for the Forerunner Christian Church (via THR). “If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men. I’m on Two and a Half Men and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth. People say it’s just entertainment. Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch.”

“If I am doing any harm, I don’t want to be here. I don’t want to be contributing to the enemy’s plan … You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t. I’m not OK with what I’m learning, what the bible says and being on that television show,” Angus added. He also called the show “the enemy,” presumably referring to Satan.

Angus, who has starred on Two and a Half Men for the past ten years, reportedly makes $350,000 an episode.

Relax dude; Jesus wants you to be on that miraculous show for now. They don’t call it ‘FFing’ missionary style for nothing. An expression that originated in the Hawaii Islands.

  • TheDudeAbides

PS: You’re not gay or anything are you?

  • Siya

Yay respect for your religion, but was this kid brain-washed or something? What the hell is this? I feel like this is church on acid -.-

  • [~Fug Face Man!ston~]

Another person drove crazy by fame. ahahahahaha Quit, loser, or shut up!

  • nemo

what a farce. These kind of statements give religion a bad name. I say quit the show because of your beliefs then publicize your newly discovered conviction. Not while still receiving the evil paycheck that is associated with the show.

  • http://none Lauren

Watch the actual video, then you’ll understand what’s he’s talking about.
Clearly what he’s referring to is the Illuminati. As hard as that may be to accept…

  • Ashley

Oh my goodness, he sounds like a crazy person! Just out of the blue, he feels like this…very creepy and strange. Most likely, he’s in one of those freaky religious cults.

  • DB

My first thought was that he was doing some sort of satire bit.

    This is just too strange.

  • Yea

@lola_uk: Why do you expect very rich person to give out their money? Do you give you your salary or most of it away to chairty? I don’t think so.

  • Ang

well apparently he found the Word after he began making the 350,000 an episode

  • Yea

He might be joking here. Why would he suddenly trash TV show hes benn on for almost 10 years?

  • Sefore

@the ghost of the kids actors: Maculay is in a horrible state. I would not really compare this kid or the Malcom guy and Amanda Bynes with Mauculay Culkin.

  • Kate

    These comments disgust me.

Why are people calling this guy crazy? Just like everyone called Dave crazy…Just because he believes in God and is taking a stand against that garbage show? Just because he is talking about something you don’t understand?

I just can’t believe how people can call this kid crazy and think so well of all those Illuminati devil worshippers — Beyonce, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Kesha, Lady Gaga, Kanye…. and the list goes on and on and on…

    Good for this kid.

  • ozzie

It’s a really sad note on humanity that we have come for far as a species but we are still worshiping tribal god images like this.

You can tell this guy has been so manipulated by the church to the point where he is miserable.

He is definitely not mentally healthy. I feel bad for him and the other young lives the churches are destroying.

  • katie

I’m not religious, but considering he’s a child actor, I don’t think this should be surprising. Children are supposed to be children, not working away during their childhood. As a child, I don’t think he understood the situation and jokes until he got older. Now that he’s 19 and more aware, he understands. I don’t think attacking him for not quitting sooner is fair. Not just the jokes, but also what he saw and was exposed to in that industry as such a young age were very likely disturbing.

  • hollywoodgirl

Really hope his money is under lock and key or someone steps in and gets it protected. All these church’s latching on to celebrities and wealthy people to build these mega cults.

  • llws88

LMAO he’s telling people to stop watching it..yet he makes 350K a week! He needs to have several SITS

  • Dareina

I never really pictured this kid to be like this. Such a shame. I mean I found him pretty boring and harmless but now hes just like alot of former child stars.
And no I don’t find him crazy but this is a bit of a shock. Why would he let this be filmed? Looks like he should start going to another chuch.

  • winning

And here I was kinda happy that the cute little Jake had turned out to be a refreshing, normal, balanced drama-free young man.
I hope this is some kind of misunderstanding.
Or maybe there’s something on the set of the show — Charlie’s curse — that makes people become weird, Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher better watch out =P

  • Effy

I go to church and believe in God, but even I find this odd. Like, a cult odd, not some church-goer odd. Hmm…

  • shannon

Aww, Jake Harper’s been brain-washed. I wonder how much of his Two and A Half Men salary he’s going to be denouncing as well?? Hypocrite.

  • NE1

Definitely the biggest ‘what the what?!!!” moment of the day.

  • Juicy Lucy

Sounds to me like he belongs to the same religion Kirk Cameron does. Kirk is famous for the inaccuarate crap he preaches. Angus has been on the show for ten years, has made millions and makes even more millions from residuals. Not bad for an 18 year old. I must admit, the show was funnier with Charlie Sheen. Ashton Kutcher’s character adds nothing to the show. IMO, when Charlie left, the show should have been cancelled.

  • Ginger

Maybe he needs to preach to his momma or poppa who are taking the money. Regardless, you know how many kids would do to get his job? Crazy! He is lucky. THROW HIM OUT!!!!!!

  • ae20

Finally, a youngster who isn’t compromising. I think it’s annoying when actors/actresses/singers/celebrities say they’re Christian and love God and then do everything that goes against what God represents and stands for! You can’t be on a show that does nothing but glorify sex and nasty humor and then claim you love a God who stands for purity. Thank you Angus!

  • GregE

He’s doing a lot of talking but isn’t saying anything: ” I figured that was, I couldn’t, I couldn’t, uh, that was unacceptable for me, uh it was bad news. Then a friend of mine, uh, a friend of mine. at school had told about, he said a friend of his, and his friend was the guy who couldn’t go out on Friday night. And uh, and uh, and uh, um, so I’m looking to go, I’m looking to go. And, uh, AND, uh. God is good. God is good. People see me. People see me”. He seems like he can’t express it in a coherent sentence. It’s a good thing they give him a script. Even a filthy script. He just sounds like a compete fool. He says, Uhhhhhh, I-IIIIII and Annnnnd every other word. He said the message by the Pastor that day was tailor made for him, but he doesn’t say anything about how it was tailor made for him. He just signed another one year contract. He is the highest paid teenager on television right now. His role has been diminished to practically nothing, so if he wants to leave the show that bad, they could show him the door. He hardly brings anything to the show. Angus is right that Jake means nothing and is nothing. but Jake is something to him. He wouldn’t be where he is if it wasn’t for Jake. He says his show is filth, Filth? Give me a break. It’s funny how when somebody finds God, it must come with a judgmental app. That’s the first thing newbies do is judge the world. then he says, “Try to be a filter for His love, because, otherwise, for myself, if I’m not doing His work. I really, I don’t want to, I might as well die now if I’m not doing his work, If I’m not doing, If I’m doing more harm than good, If I’m doing any harm”. If? Doesn’t he know if he’s doing any harm? He’s on the filthiest show in the world but says “if I’m doing any harm”. That was his testimony? He didn’t say anything.

  • Tiffany O.

Woah. I guess he’s entering his post adolescent idealistic phase. What a self-righteous goober.

  • Saad Khan

Will Angus #CrazyKid will return the Filth’s money back to the producers. Filth money is good but the show is bad.. C’mon #Retarded

  • Amy

What’s wrong with somebody who grows up and starting to realize that he’s been doing something wrong and wants to correct it? If he’s saying he’s gay, less people would mock him. Admitting that he has a belief is great, why are people so anti religion?

  • Franki

Right on Angus! Don’t pay attention to the haters!!!!!

  • Ceara

Welcome to Just Jared, the Anti Christ board. You are welcome, only if you aren’t a crazy Jesus lovin’ freak!

  • http://AlexGomezPlant Alex

    what a hell????

    God why???

this show is going down :(

  • ze

    There are 2 scenerio here:-

    1) He wanted out but could not due to contract? so the easiest thing is use religion. Religion always creep people out.

    2) He is no longer a teenager and might find this new script especialy him had to kiss girl or beginning to like girls etc. He might be gay (nothing wrong with that).

We cannot be too quick to judge him. Money at times not important if one is unhappy.

  • XYZ

Ungrateful religious retard…. Yeah, he’s a virgin and Im Michael Jackson….

  • XYZ

who do u think hates an idiot like him? or like u?

  • XYZ

    Took ur pills?

1- I’m curious. Who exactly is this “Enemy”!? He sounds like a total fundamentalist. It’s good for the cult to find some clueless rich teenage Hollywood twerp to manipulate. Not a lot of cults are lucky that way. Don’t be surprised if you read on the papers someday a newsflash about Jones that contains the words ‘before turning the gun on himself’.

2- ‘Two on a Half Men’ is crap, but not because it’s ungodly, but because it doesn’t contain two and a half men anymore. It should be called ‘A Wuss, A Religious Nut and a Toyboy’.

  • Lev

Guess tha’s what happens when he doesn’t have a script.

  • Rocky

YOU SAID IT! If you don’t want to be on it, then LEAVE!! These religious freaks freak me out!

  • an opinion

Poor baby. He was just looking for direction in his life and sadly fell for this fake who seems to have brainwashed him. I am not anti religious but I am anti Jim Jones

  • Reese

He is our generation’s Kirk Cameron.

  • shawn

The argument that “he has no problem with receiving a paycheck” is obnoxious. He did the work. He gets paid. The article and the video inform the reader that this is a “new” way in the actors thinking. People change idiots.

  • Ask Alice

I totally agree with him that the show is sick, so what’s keeping him there?

My objections to that form of ‘entertainment’ have nothing to do with religion. It’s just common sense to keep garbage out of your mouth and out of your head.

  • Tanya

Good for him, its his life

  • cordelia

Also, the fact that this is happening when he is 19 says a lot. I don’t know what his parents are like, but if they pressured him since he was 10 to work and support the family, I can see a kid doing that. At 18 or 19, he’s an adult and the studios don’t have to consult with his parents anymore. Maybe what has been happening truly sunk in, resulting in him being “lost” and not being able to trust his parents, he turned to religion as his moral compass.

  • hypocrite?

Why just that show…. there are many shows are like that or worse. Why can’t he say stop watching TV all together???????????

  • aughra

The kid’s growing up. He’s decided he has morals, and 2 1/2 doesn’t. Good for him.

  • Jen In Rehab

He is finally at an age where he wants to make some decisions, Other people have made money from his work. The show is lame and trashy he has a Right to express his opinion.
Why is it everyone has a right to speak out except Christians??

  • Jen In Rehab

His parents and others put him on a very adult show when he was just a kid and that was wrong.
He has a right to speak his mind, Your Agreement is Not Required!!
