Is it another film about a quirky neurotic working girl with no time for love who meets a laid back guy who soooo gets on her nerves because he’s, like, her polar opposite you guys! But by the end of the movie, after having tried things out with him and broken up, she realizes he’s really the only guy for her and they live happily ever after?

“Gone Girl” is one of the most boring, insipid books I have read in a long, long time. I had to read it for a book club, so I tried to keep reading, but finally put it down. It’s a case of much plot twists about nothing.

So fine to see Reese again!

I´ll look the movie “Gone Girl”, no matter if it succeed or not !
    ***
If the story of the movie is the one, that “Happy Evil Dude” describes,
then there should not be any reason to find it boring!
    ***
The movie would show, that “Fattal attraction” must not be always a failure in a relationship. If there is the special case, that a) the qualities are of opposite nature b) they are negative because they are too extreme, c) both of them, the man and the woman want to change by getting what the other has got and d) they have respect at each other (after the magic of “fatal attraction” usually has disappeared), they can “harmonify” each other to make THE GREAT LOVE happen. I would call this qualities “contemplary qualities”.
    ***
Of course, too many “contemplary qualities” do not work, because a grown-up is not willing to change his life in too many ways.
    ***
But in that movie we have only one or two of them: Being very busy and disciplinated and therefore finding no way for love and deeper feelings on the one hand and being lazy without discipline and having too much emotions on the other hand. So it works!
    ***
THE BEST for a GOLDEN RELATIONSHIP should be, that there are many common qualities/needs, that are general positive for “doing something together in love and harmony”, but only less qualities/needs, that are different between the man and the woman.
And there must be the common key-qualitiy to try to “experience new things together” as long as you´re living, because experiencing new things through a whole life and to hold on the variability of experiences
is the key of what keeps us alive and fresh!
Every single person alteres within time and in a relationship, they have to alter together by “experiencing it together”. The continuity of alteration – combined with activity, of course – is the best prophylaxe against growing old mentally and emotionally, too.
    ***
I hardly can wait to see the movie !
