Anne Hathaway & 'Les Miserables' Cast Cover 'THR'

Les Miserables cast mates Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Hugh Jackman, and Russell Crowe take the cover of THR‘s latest issue.

“There was resistance because I was between their ideal ages for the parts — maybe not mature enough for Fantine but past the point where I could believably play Cosette [Fantine’s daughter, later embodied by Seyfried],” Anne told the mag. “And I did what I do when I really want a role: I got fiery and told my agent, ‘Just get me in the room.’”

“I just had to stop eating,” Anne added about her character’s poverty stricken lifestyle, “all for a total of 13 days’ shooting.”

Les Miserables was a magnificent experience,” Russell said. “The challenge of it, the beauty of it, the camaraderie — it was such a profound experience that I’m sure every time I start a new movie, some part of me will be wishing I was starting Les Mis again.”

Also featured in the magazine are Les Mis supporting actors Eddie Redmayne and Samantha Barks.

Remember when Amanda was the goofball from Mean Girls and Lindsay Lohan was the next big movie great, well look who had the last laugh. Lindsay’s acting never matured past the age of 17 so as an adult asctress she is really terrible. On the other hand the only real gossip you hear about Amanda is her dating life, no biggie really, and look at her career now. You can bet your life this movie is going to be a big award season contender, with Amanda walking all the red carpets looking gorgeous, while Lindsay spends awards season in jail looking like a 50 year old meth addict.

I can’t wait for this movie but I don’t understand why Anne Hathaway is possing as the star of the movie when she’s not. Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) is the main character, even Eddie, Amanda and Russell characters are more important than hers. I just can guess the producers have picked her as an Oscar contender and her people is making then put the rest of the cast in the back, even her dress was picket to emphasize her. I find it disgusting :-(

I think Anne really rocks this short hair, she looked so beautiful at the London premiere. I’ve noticed that to suit short hair women either need to have strong bone structure or a small face with strong features – which Anne has.

    Annie Says:

@Anna – you are dead right – the reason Amanda and Rachel still have legit careers is that they have continued to grow as actresses but Lindsay hasn’t. Lindsay’s acting is still child/teen actor style acting. That was the biggest reason she was so laughable as Elizabeth Taylor (well, apart of course from the Faces of Meth face). Elizabeth Taylor had a very sophisticated yet sexual aura, absolutely nothing immature or childish about it. Lindsay and her high school drama student acting couldn’t touch that with a 10 foot pole. Megan Fox’s acting hasn’t really changed either, but the difference is she does not go around claiming to be an oscar calibre actress and she’s been going for small campy roles where that kinda works.

Anne is getting all the attention, and I believe she will get at least an Oscar nomination, if not win it, from this role.

Although I do believe Hugh Jackman is getting a lot of praise for his performance and I do hope that he is recognised for this.

All in all, I have high hopes for this film and its cast, and look forward to watching Samantha Barks performance.

    Creed Says:

Oh, and I totally agree, Amanda is kind of in this league of actresses where even if she makes a bad movie (like Gone) we all forget about it because she is gorgeous and talented and here to stay for a looooooooong time.
