The video sets itself apart from other music videos because the guys from Maroon 5 asked fans to contribute by sending in video clips!

“our US tour is gonna be ridiculous. Don’t even come because I don’t think you’ll be able to handle it. #justkiddingtotallycomeplease” Adam Levine, lead singer from the band, tweeted the same day.

This has to be the most commercially manipulative poppy crap I’ve witnessed since the last time which was probably something produced. Pandering and lazy.

Given the song’s meaning, I’m surprised by what M5 did with the video. To me, it’s more or less a PSA. M5 isn’t in it, which maybe is the point, I don’t know. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t resonate with some people? At least, with those who call themselves fans.

In fact, the last 3 videos have kind of had nothing to do with the lyrics of the songs.

@intrigued: You’re right about that. But to me, this felt more like a PSA for being yourself and not bullying others, which is sweet. Different, but sweet. ;-)

I loved the video. Yes- it is completely different, not a music video and our boys were not on there. But it is about their fans and their thoughts on life- which is the coolest thing. It’s the fans that support Maroon 5 and this is a Thank You they gave us by making this video. Who else has done this? Or how many will copy and do their own version. Plus, we should be getting TMWNL video pretty soon- can’t wait!!
