Norah Jones' Father, Sitarist Ravi Shankar, Dead at 92

Famed sitarist Ravi Shankar, the estranged father of singer Norah Jones, has passed away at 92.

Ravi was admitted to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California last week after having difficulty breathing and died on Tuesday (December 11) at approximately 4:30pm PT.

The sitarist was considered to be the driving force of introducing Indian music to the Western World and he forged a relationship with Beatles guitarist George Harrison, which helped him reach global fame.

Ravi continued to give virtuoso performances into his 90s, including one last year at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

We send our condolences out to Ravi‘s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

he’s famous enough that he doesn’t need Norah Jones’ Father in front of his name!

He’s not estranged from Norah and hasn’t been for the past fifteen years. Please do your research before you print hurtful things about people upon the death of a loved one. They’ve had a close relationship since they reunited when she was 18.

NORAH JONES WILL BE SUED FOR STEALING MY WORK!!! YOU WILL PAY IN THIS LIFE AND THE NEXT!!!
