Amy Adams: 'Backstage' Magazine's Performer of the Year!

Amy Adams takes the cover of Backstage magazine’s latest issue as the Performer of the Year!

The 38-year-old actress had a huge year with three major films – Trouble with the Curve, The Master, and On the Road – and a critically acclaimed stage performance in the summer hit Into the Woods.

Amy chatted with the mag about her highly anticipated role for next year as Lois Lane in Man of Steel.

“I never would have imagined I would play Lois Lane, though I used to pretend to be her,” Amy said. “It wasn’t that I wanted to be a reporter; I just loved her spunk and how she seemed smarter than everybody else.”

Love her – she’s so talented.

@Claire: Looks like someone gave you a thumbs down for your compliment – probably some jealous old hag. ;)

# 3

@Rick: And an old maid to boot.

I really have no opinion whatsoever on this story. Thanks for listening.

I can’t see Lois Lane as a redhead. I’m sad at the fact she will be. I like Amy but I just can’t see her as Lois Lane.

# 6

She’s beautiful. I like her

# 7

She has a sweet smile.

# 8

Can’t imagine her as Louis, she seems too old to play her and too old to be Henry’s love interest. But since she’s talented, I still have hope she did a great job.

@Remi: Lois Lane IS a red head

And lois is OLDER than Clark

@Jime: I can’t imagine her as LOUIS either. ;-)

Lois Lane was a red head for years in the comics. She was also a red head in the 1950′s Superman show played by Noel Neill. As for her age….I can’t get over the sexism. You watch movies every single day where the man is years older than the female and you don’t flinch but God forbid a woman get cast opposite a younger man and you shame her for her age. Sexism at it’s finest.
Amy Adams is a lovely woman and a great talent. She’ll be great as Lois Lane.

To anyone who doubts her ability to play Lois Lane: She will OWN this role, making you forget anyone else ever played it, that there could possibly have been another casting choice. Whatever role she chooses to do, she OWNS, in a way no one else has since Meryl Streep.

Amy is Just. The. Best.

Congratulations on this honor. Looking forward to seeing you hold one of those little golden guys in a few months, too – he’s long overdue for you.
