Jennifer Lawrence Covers 'Marie Claire' South Africa January 2013

Jennifer Lawrence is smoldering on the cover of Marie Claire South Africa‘s January 2013 issue.

Here’s what the 22-year-old Silver Linings Playbook actress had to share with the mag:

On going out with friends: “I don’t like going out that much. I’m kind of an old lady. After it’s 11, I’m like ‘Don’t these kids ever get tired?’ When I’m out, I think about my couch.”

On her body: “I’d rather look chubby on screen and like a person in real life.”

On her New Year’s Resolution: “My New Year’s Resolution is to stand up for myself. It’s hard for me. Nobody wants to be disliked. You always want to be polite and be nice. I tried to find a balance in saying what I mean and still being nice. I can’t do it. I have this ‘okay’ attitude and everything. I end up allowing myself to get walked over and resenting it.”

She has a beautiful ass !!!!

    The truth Says:

The eye make-up is far too heavy and dark, makes her look like an owl. Having said that, she is a natural beauty,a stunning girl with solid acting chops. I’m a fan.

    KMC Says:

Wow…I really like her. I’m a grandma too girly and I am proud. I also need to work on not being so polite.

    BettyBoo Says:

Wow barely recognized her with such heavy makeup. I kinda like it, even though i prefer her with more of a natural look. Either way she’s a gorgeous girl, love her.

    JUST NO Says:

That cover is horrible. I like her. But it seems they don’t know what slot to put her in. This does not look like something she would wear. It feels out of character. They don’t know how to portray her in the media.. Sexy, mysterious.. whatever.

I thing she has a great body but the sexy vamp is not working.

    Jess Says:

I like her but HOLY PHOTOSHOP.

The photoshop and make-up are terrible.

    Ian Says:

She has an average looking. Stop with the hype around her.

    omar Says:

    She is annoying and fake.

    B Says:

    Hi Cristina Ricci! kkkkkkkkkkkkk

    anonymous Says:

“…like a person in real life.”

So does that mean skinny people are not real people?? Some people are just naturally skinny!! Wish people would realize that.

If skinny people were to say what Jennifer said, there would be stones thrown at them. But since Jennifer is fuller–and somehow more “womanly”–than skinny people, it’s alright.

And this girl talks about her body way to much. We get it, you’re proud of you’re body! Now stop!

    Cate Says:

I know people will criticise her for that body comment but feel bad for Jennifer because I genuinely get the feeling that someone in the industry has made some unkind comments to her about the fact that she isn’t stick thin and that’s why she seems much more defensive about her weight now than she used to be pre-Hunger Games.

It’s just a guess but I think probably the fact she is wearing a lot more designer pieces now might have something to do with this too. I read an interview with a pretty well-known English actess who is UK Size 10 (US Size 6) who talked about how designers would refuse to send her clothing because she was regarded as too fat. I wonder if Jennifer has had to deal with something like that.

I hope she doesn’t succumb to pressure as her figure is great.

    sam Says:

    who’s she wearing?

    @sam:

    I think its Giles http://www.style.com/fashionshows/complete/slideshow/S2012RTW-GDEACON/#10
    you are welcome :)

    izzy Says:

@anonymous: not the point..she is referring to the criticism of starving or obtaining an eating disorder in order to look acceptable.

  17. 17
    kaya Says:

    gorgeous girl!

  18. 18
    Amalia Says:

I can´t stand her. She is a mocking person.

  19. 19
    Fan Says:

@KMC, I totally agree with the comment too… About not being so polite.
This girl sure is smart for someone so young. Being polite is treating others with respect but not expecting any in return, and usually not receiving it. POLITENESS SHOULD BE BANNED. Say what you mean, and mean what you say, is my motto!

    ND Says:

@aly:): Thank you! I was also wondering. I think she looks awesome and she can act on top of being a naturally gorgeous woman. Good for her! I’m a big fan. :)

    yep Says:

    gorgeous!

  22. 22
    iamsorry Says:

Jen Law is a good actress but she just has an average looking. i don’t really think she is attractive at all. she look pretty with the nice makeup but once she open her mouth everything is change. she can’t control herself when she start talking and it is so annoying.

  23. 23
    ccarnkee Says:

@iamsorry: But I definitely prefer someone is average looking but is definitely worth seeing in movies-blockbuster or not instead of having hot bland mannequins who have one facial expression. Looks can very much be enhanced while talents are so difficult to find.

  24. 24
    lizzeh Says:

“When I’m out, I think about my couch.” – she took the words out of my mouth! Well done her and more power to her film career.

  25. 25
    JJ Says:

She is exactly like me! Im the same way.
