Jessica Chastain: 'Zero Dark Thirty' Torture Scenes Were Tough!

The day before, the actress brought her adorable pet pooch Chaplin into the Walter Kerr Theater for a performance.

Jessica recently talked about the depiction of torture in her highly anticipated film Zero Dark Thirty.

“Those scenes were tough to film and we filmed that section in a Jordanian prison. We weren’t on a soundstage in Los Angeles. It creates an atmosphere that is absolutely in those scenes. That was a tough week. [But] it’s part of the history of the characters,” Jessica shared.

Jessica added, “Instead of looking at it and making my own judgements, I try to look at it as part of the character. This is the introduction of a character who was recruited right out of school and she shows up in her suit thinking it’s going to be a more traditional interrogation. And from where she starts to where she ends at the end of the film is very important.”

FYI: Jessica is wearing J Brand’s Bambi Coat in Oatmeal.

I loved “Zero Dark Thirty” and while she is beautiful, I don’t think she’s that great an actress. She’s not luminous, the way Debra Winger was. Her acting is only skin-deep.

# 2

I’ve never heard Daniel Day Lewis or Meryl Streep talking nonstop about their nominated roles. Just act, keep your mouth shut and you will get an Oscar. I still remember last George Clooney going bonkers in his campaigning, the Sudan crisis and all and eventually he FAILED. So i hope Jessica ‘attention-seeking’ Chastain or Anne ‘f.ucking annoying’ hatheway DO NOT WIN!

She’s not even on the JJ’s most popular lists of 2012 and yet she still gets daily posts, sometimes twice in one day! JJ don’t you read your own polls?

my co-worker’s aunt makes $64 hourly on the internet. She has been without a job for 6 months but last month her check was $15679 just working on the internet for a few hours. Go to this web site and read more (Click on menu Home more information)

@James: Flagged. You are obnoxious.

Shut up!
Everybody is tired of your ridiculous and desperate Oscar campaigning posing for paparazzi EVERYDAY, paying JJ to post your fake pics and saying how much you suffered and cried filming torture scenes in this government propaganda movie.
I hope someone really talented win this oscar instead of this famewh*ore, like Marion Cotillard, Rachel Weisz or Helen Mirren.

You all do realize that she does not run her own Oscar campaign. There is an army of studio execs and PR people who basically tell her where and when to show up and say something.
