Anne Hathaway Covers 'Harper's Bazaar UK' February 2013

Anne Hathaway is gorgeous on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK‘s February 2013 issue.

Here’s what the 30-year-old Les Miserables star had to share with the mag:

On her perception of herself: “I’m not Rihanna. I’m not cool. When people come to me in the street, they often want a hug not a photo, and they want that because they like my work. For a long time it was me and [my manager] against the world. I was seen as this bizarre-world good-girl cartoon that I in no way identified with – very vanilla, very sweet, very accessible and not interesting. I had no grit, no sex appeal.”

On her marriage to Adam Shulman: “He walks into a room, and I light up. I can’t help it. A few days into [filming Les Misérables] I said ‘I’m having too much fun. I just want to play with you and I need to be really sad right now.’ I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life.”

On being thirty: “It doesn’t help that the new crop of girls is so gorgeous and so 22 years old. But I’m excited about it.”

She looks stunning!

No you are not Rihanna, you are a woman of great talent. Anne Hathaway has had one misstep (no underwear photo) while Rihanna has had too many to count. Keep being the great actress you are and that is what people will remember and admire.

Oh please @ 01/02/2013 at 1:55 pm

She’s vain. SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE HER AN OSCAR. ..and maybe she’ll shut up already and go away.

I really like Anne, but she needs to gain some confidence in herself. She continues to put herself down in every magazine. I’m starting to believe she really has low self-esteem! You’d think she was reading every negative comment made about herself online and agreeing with it.

She looks like a Giraffe!

Maybe her husband is a nice guy, but she makes him sound so WOW, yet he looks about as interresting as dishwater. Plus what does he do except be her husband (jewely-designer. for real?!), the guy looks like he came from the outback to me, but hey, good for her that she thinks he lights up a room (that room must be dark as darkness LOL!!).

She looks like a vanilla version of Liza Minella…they both have cartoon features.

Before she’s into “oh,i cry when i hear myself sing in les miserables”,”i lost so much weight in that movie and i cry when i cut my hair so short”.She’s in so much awe of herself in that movie, you’d think she’s the first actress who ever cut her hair ,lost some weight and sing in the movie. Now she’s reverse psychologing us,”i’m so plain,i’m uncool, not interesting”.Please ,would somebody give this woman 2 oscar already,so she would shut up!

You are right! You are not cool. I don’t now why you want us to believe you are interesting. First you want to be a catwoman, and then you want to show you are a good actress just because you starved yourself, now you want us to believe you are not what people think (you have sex appeal). Don’t cry, Anne, but you don’t have sex appeal.

Vanity fair above her head would make more sense, this reverse psychology thing is just ugh, give her an Oscar and let her be, in her latest pre-Oscar,post-les mis intvws she comes off incredibly arrogant

I don’t think she isn’t confident in herself – I think it’s more that she’s been told to start sounding humble pronto in interviews since many of her earlier comments on Les Mis could have been interperated as boasting and bragging. It’s obvious she’s been told to dial it down so as not to hurt her Oscar chances. I hope she starts keeping her mouth shut between then and now, because her performance really, really does speak for itself.

She’s so FAKE……….

She’s so FAKE……….

I think its nice that she thinks so highly of her husband- thats how its supposed to be. :)

I like her a lot! But, she shouldn’t have mentioned Rihanna. If anything she should have mentioned Taylor Swift.

This interview makes me like her more.

C’mon, guys…if she had come up here and said the opposite, you’d have called her a bragging *****. She’s trying to be humble. If we were to be honest, she’s earned the right to brag. She’s given two back-to-back, kick-ass performances, and she deserves props for it. And she’s right: no one sees her as risque or a bad girl. It’s okay to not like her, but don’t put her down for no good reason. She sounds like a nice, down to earth person.
