Julianne Hough Covers 'Cosmopolitan' February 2013

Julianne Hough bares her toned tummy on the cover of Cosmopolitan‘s January 2013 issue, on newsstands January 8.

Here is what the 24-year-old Safe Haven actress had to share with the mag:

On studying at a prestigious dance academy in London as a child: “I was 10 years old looking like I was 28, being a very sensual dancer. I was a tormented little kid who had to put on this sexy facade because that was my job and my life. But my heart was the same, and I was this innocent little girl. I wanted so much love… While I was in London, I was abused, mentally, physically, everything… I’m a very forgiving person, and I don’t want to hurt anybody. What’s past is past…. [It got worse] when I started hitting puberty, when I started becoming a woman and stopped being a little girl.”

On recalling her child abuse while filming Safe Haven
: “I went from bawling to containing to laughing to crying again. Josh [Duhamel] was crying. I think it was the most therapeutic moment of my life.”

On her boyfriend Ryan Seacrest: “We love what we do. We take pride in giving it our all, but then when we’re alone, we really focus in on going to dinners and being extra-romantic and affectionate and just being there for each other.”

I thought it was supposed to be Dakota Fanning. Maybe they changed their mind at the last minute because they had complaints about Dakota being underage & dressed too provocatively. IDK

Sorry I guess that was last year. My mistake.

  • DB

Her parents sent her away – they should have known better than to do that. You need to provide protection for your little girl. Bad parenting left her vulnerable.

  • A

    Wait, who abused her?

  • DB

@A: It sounds like the adults involved in teaching her dancing.

I did some google searching and it made it sound like that.

Most people don’t discuss getting abused via a magazine. That is something that should be dealt with personally and only addressing if you are trying to prevent it. That’s my two cents.

When I was a child & I went to the mall with my mom, I used to see Cosmo on the stands & I thought it was a men’s magazine because of the scantily clad women they always put on their cover. I thought it was something like Playboy & I felt completely disgusted whenever I noticed it on the magazine racks. It wasn’t until I was 14 that I found out it was a magazine for WOMEN. I have no interest in any of the bimbos they put on their cover. I’m a straight female. I like men, not women. Whenever I find the odd copy of Cosmo at the gym, most of their articles are about useless crap that no woman with a life of her own would care about or waste her money on.

I feel awful about what Julianne went through. It’s very sad and wrong and I’m sure it haunts her to this day and she still has issues with it even now. Anyone would! BUT, does she really have to talk about this personal topic is EVERY magazine interview she does? I understand if they ask her about it then she’ll talk about it, but can’t she talk about happier things and try to move on with her life?

All these women on these magazines look alike. When I walk through the drug store and see the magazine section I think its the same woman on all the magazines. No wonder nobody buys them.

  • Lolita

All these magazine covers look the same. Boring looking women. No wonder nobody buys them anymore.

  • Brit

She talks as if she was raped. Is that true??

  • sam

She is indirectly saying that Shirley and Corky Ballas, the ballroom legends and parents to Mark, abused her. She lived with them for 5 years. She is beginning to talk too much. Every movie, too much info about every detail of her life. The level of success she reached in dance doesn’t come easily- but she is really trashing these people who took her in.

  • Lesbian

    She’s stunning!

  • Happy_Evil_Dude

Mmmmh, hasn’t she been claiming to be a virgin for years now?
