@blah:
yes she won best actress for her performance in Zero Dark Thirty.

# 6

the thing that really funny is, this site used to love her so much when she campaigned for the Help last year. Why start hating her now? She’s not “posing for paps every day”,it’s because she works literally every day in the theatre for her play “The Heiress”,and paps was there,she’s just being nice to say hi to them. She’s a talented actress,and her performance in Zero Dark Thirty def. deserves an Oscar. Why do you guys have to write mean things instead of appreciating her amazing body of work?

# 7

@ash: She deserves an Oscar for stay sitting behind a desk almost the entire movie? This will be so “deserved” as Gwyneth Paltrow’s Oscar over Cate Blanchett, simply pathetic.

# 8

@Marie:
Good performance does not mean yelling and crying hysterically. Jessica turned herslef into a completely different person for Maya,and she won a lot of Critics Awards recetly,I’m sure the critics can tell whose performance is better.

btw who’s the “Cate Blanchett” this year in your reference? if you want pick up the fight between Jessica fans and Jennifer Lawrence fans,I’m not interested. and do you think Jennifer’s performance and role are much more like Gwyneth’s?

@ash: her work is fine, it’s her disgusting personality that’s the problem. “Before” people disliked her she hadn’t been on too many talk shows or expressed her white-wash views to the world so it was fine, they could only judge her by the work she did.

@well..: what white wash views are you talking about

Pleeeeeeaaaaaae don’t start the RACISM talks!!!

@what: in recent talk shows she has slammed countries and also expressed her disgust with not being treated as an “equal” in a third world country even though that clearly occurs in america, too.

It was insensitive and she came off like a bigot.

@Please: of course not, let’s ignore it.

@ash: No, I don’t think Jennifer Lawrence would be this year “Cate Blanchett”, her performance is so overrated as Jessica’s and is not oscar worthy, but “Silver Linings” is receiving much hype, is directed by a oscar nominee and starred by a teen idol, so she probably will be nominated but hardly will win.
Actually this award season is very week. If Emmanuelle Riva was american she probably would be nominated and win for Amour (she could replace Jessica or Jennifer), but she is not and she wasn’t nominated for none of these awards, so the oscar is a far away dream. Marion Cotillard could easily win if Rust and Bone was an american movie or if was receiving so much hype as Silver Linings and ZDT, but she already won in 2008 for a foreign movie, so she hardly will win this year for another foreign movie, and ZDT represents the american revenge for 9/11 and the oscars are very political, so…

Jessica Chastain goes to the toilet! Exclusively on Just Jared.

@Marie: could not agree more!!!!!

@Marie: and marion cotillard won’t win again after her comments ABOUT 9/11.
americans ripped her apart for that

@uh: Yeah, I remember people saying that she should give back her oscar, even when she claimed that her comments were taken out of context, but for americans she was saying that 9/11 victims deserved to die. But outside the U.S., many people have the same doubts about what happened, but they are afraid to tell and be called pro-terrorists and United States’ enemies.

The whole fricking Academy is a joke. They are all so political and normally don’t give the deserving nominee the Oscar but the most popular one or the one that is most recognized. It is simply idiotic.

Example: Julia Roberts won over Ellen Burstyn for Erin Brokovich. The most snubbed Oscar EVER! The last scene that Ellen gives in Requiem for a Dream is heart-breaking. But no, Julia won cause a person like her must win an Oscar because she is in fact, Miss Julia Roberts. And yeah, Gwyneth over Cate and oh SANDRA BULLOCK OVER GABOUREY SIDIBE! I mean, COME ON!

I love Jennifer Lawrence, she does have a talent, Silver Linings Playbook is ok, she was great but she doesn’t deserve an Oscar for it neither does Jessica. I saw Emanuelle Riva in Amour. HEART-BREAKING!

I’ve seen Marion and Naomi Watts too and Marion is amazing, deserving to say the least but considering she already has an Oscar I hope that Emanuelle wins it but it’ll go to either Naomi, cause yeah she is supported by Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, Mark Ruffalo etc, and no one cares about Riva…

@Marie: Sitting behind a desk throughout the film, WTF? Someone didn’t see the film. Moron.

Katie Holmes smiling/posing for paparazzis everyday in front of the theather = attention-who-re
Jessica Chastain doing the same = just being nice

Very interesting!
