Anne Hathaway Reacts to Her Oscar Nomination!

Anne Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman take their dog Esmeralda on a walk through the park on Wednesday (January 9) in Brooklyn, NY.

The next morning, the 30-year-old actress received a 2013 Oscar nomination for her work as Fantine in Les Miserables!

Anne reacted to the news later in the day!

“When I got cast, my mother gave me her cast jacket from when she did the tour. I put it on this morning. And I wore it on my first day of filming. I feel like I’m especially sharing it with her,” Anne said. “I’ve received an extraordinary and unusual amount of love for playing this character. I’m still processing it. I’m so very grateful for every second. I had hoped to achieve an Oscar nomination in my life but to be 30 and have two – I don’t know what energy to thank.”

FYI: Anne is wearing an Autumn Cashmere Shawl Collar Sweater Coat.

Seriously just can’t watch a movie with her in it. She’s just way too annoying.

  • L

God! It’s an Oscar nod, you’re not curing cancer!

  • Sal

She looks like an old society lady.

    It’s a Oscar nod, you’re not curing cancer +100000
    She’s not humble at all!

  • Jessie

Exactly, it’s an Oscar nomination, she acts like she just won a Nobel peace prize. And about getting two nods by the time you’re 30, Jennifer Lawrence just got her second one and she’s only 22 and she acted a lot more humbly about receiving her second nomination.

  • amanda

She acted like she is as big as Meryl Streep (which she will NEVER even come close to being) before the Oscar nod. Now she’ll be even worse.

  • Shari

She reminds me of an anteater

  • Marta

She wants Oscar so much that in some point it’s pathetic.

    hahahahahahahaha u’re totally right!!!

  • Hugo

You guys are so petty and ridiculous! She is an actress of course she thinks that an oscar nomination is tremendous. Stop being jealous and grow up a little.

  • Rievera

I Like Anne but her fake modesty does show. Her non-stop campaiging for her Oscar was visible. I really like her as an actress but from what I saw recently with all these unecessary capaigning it makes me want to root for the others in her category.
I hope that Amy Adams or Sally Field win this award.

The best supporting actress honor went to Anne Hathaway for her portrayal of Fantine in “Les Miserables.”

“This is a bittersweet moment for me because I have this award but they spelled my name wrong…It is with an E,” she said, smiling, at the start of her acceptance speech.

  • Jaime

Oh god I hope she doesn’t win!

  • KissThis

Anne kind of annoys me these days. She was cuter/more down to earth when she first started.

  • Terrible Twos

I like Anne. She was pretty good in the Batman movie, I was surprised. I saw Les Miserables too and wow is she talented.

  • Sheila

I like her in the movies. In real life, not so much, screams of try-hard and of the need for “everybody please love me!! Wish she would jsut concentrate and be happy with the good work she does and not care so much about the accolades. She almost wore a sign that said “I want to be nominated” and part of me wants her not to win because of that. I’m rooting for Naomi Watts because she is humble and her body of work is great, she was fanstastic in The Impossible and because she’s so down to earth, not needy like Anne.

  • Luz

Anne Hathaway is amazing and actually LOVES the acting craft. What’s so wrong with wanting to be acknowledged for the hard work one does?! She deserves this Oscar nomination, and every other nomination she’s gotten. She is still down to earth. Simply because she states that she’s desired an Oscar nom/win that makes her stuck up? That makes her a real person, a person with wants and dreams that openly expresses them. If you people were actors, you’d know what I’m talking about, but instead you feel it’s the social norm to bash on somebody who is openly proud of their accomplishments. Way to go, America.
