Britney Spears Confirms 'X Factor' Departure; Statement

Britney Spears has confirmed that she is not returning to The X Factor for the upcoming third season.

I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

“In light of sourced reports and speculation, it is confirmed that Britney did decide, and is in fact not returning to X Factor. Fox has been informed,” her rep tells

Britney is reportedly in negotiations to headline a show in Las Vegas, according to TMZ!

No Im not sad. This woman is way overrated and everyone is giving her everything when she’s 0 talent. All she does is copying! Why should I be sad? Because her difficult moments in life have been made public? I still dont get why she had such a huge meltdown when she has beautiful boys. I think the truth is still hidden. This woman is a copycat!

  • Kylie

It was nice of them to allow her to quit to save face.

Instead of touring, I truly hope she can just have a quiet life without the bloodsuckers around her. That family should focus on helping her become a hand-on and present mom again — that’s what will be important to her in the long run. Too many of these hollywood types learn too late …

Britney should stay and the show should leave.

You must not follow Britney very much outside of superficial things about her career like this because all she does is talk about her kids in every interview she does. I think you and many others are still living in 2007, her career has honestly taken a second to her family, as it should and she definitely has not learned too late. She’s right on track.

Good for her X Factor is a failure anyway. Go to Vegas and headline like Celine.

  • Dan

I LOOOVE Britney, but it wasnt working. Is better for her stay in music, where she is good. She is a very shy person for a tv show.

  • yep

    Wish Britney the best.

She misses performing? Umm.. she doesn’t even sing live, write her own music, or anything for that matter. She’s talentless, and the feedback she gave to the aspiring singers on X Factor was devoid of anything useful. She’s not even a singer.

Lies, lies and more lies.First, she didn’t write the statement, her PR team wrote it for her;second, she doesn’t love to perform anymore, her handlers forces her to do albums and tour, third,it wasn’t a “difficult” decision to leave X-Factor…she never wanted to be there in first place…and for last…does anyone still believe in TMZ’s gossips? In most of the time, they make up stories and “sources” to get attention.
She’s under a conservatorship, and according to her handlers, she’s not able to take decisions by herself, for being mentally unstable. She’s fake, her “public” life is fake, she has no talent and she’s a fraud. And NO,i’m not sad. She’s a fraud anyway.

@Lexy: You forgot to say that she doesn’t dance either…but i agree with the rest of your comment.

  • Dave Franco

Definitely OVERRATED. I’m sure I’ll get flagged for this, but the girl was 100% a sex ploy with good marketing behind her. Aguilera should have had a better career than her. Quite sad when marketing trumps talent.

  • Happy_Evil_Dude

LOL, she’s going to be a Vegas showgirl…

  • the_boyfriend

good because that show was awful.
the Queen, who made more money than any other female singer last year, needs to concentrate on what she does best, Pop Music.

i wasnt aware that you knew her personally. how often do you hang out with her? do you like her dog hannah?

  • Alex

I think it was clear that Britney was uncomfortable being a judge instead of a performer. I don’t think she actually knows who she is apart from being on stage since she’s been there her whole life. I got the impression that she was threatened by the young talent being showcased and didn’t sincerely want to mentor them. I guess it’s just not her thing (but part of me wants to tell her to just grow up and exit gracefully).

  • Giovanni

    @Vivien: who is she copying?

  • Khloe

She’s too much of a legend for that show. Glad <3
