OlderQuvenzhane Wallis Accepts Critics' Choice Award with iPhone!
Quvenzhane Wallis reads her acceptance speech on her iPhone on stage at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 10) in Santa Monica, Calif.
The 9-year-old actress picked up the Best Young Actor/Actress award for her work in Beasts of the Southern Wild, which also garnered her a nomination in the Best Actress category.
Earlier in the day, Quvenzhane became the youngest actress to ever be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Actress in a Leading Role category. What an amazing honor!

She was so adorable last night. Youngest Oscar nominee ever. Good for her.
This 9-year-old has shown more talent in one film than a that certain pregnant woman who was previously posted will never show. Sad.

She’s cute, but lawrdy I hope she doesn’t win the Oscar. Just because she’s a child (but a good actress) doesn’t mean she should get one now. If she continues to act greatly, I’m sure there will be plenty more nominations and wins in the future, but not now. There are other performances that are more worthy this year. Personally, I don’t even think she should have been nominated (and neither should have Jennifer Lawrence). Marion Cotillard should have been nominated. Jennifer Lawrence was good in that film, but it was not Oscar Caliber performance.
…I know that if Jared still had those “rate” buttons, I would have been voted down drastically. But good thing he doesn’t anymore, right? Hehe….

She reminds me of Dakota fanning at that age. Cute and talented.
Dakota Fanning, Abigail Breslin, Haley Joel Osment were all kid actors praised by the media. But as they grew they’ve lost that little sparkle in their acting.
Osment has been forgotten, Breslin became average after Little Miss Sunshine, Dakota still has to prove herself as an adult actor.
For her sake i hope she doesn’t win the oscar so young after one movie, a nomination will give her credits and open doors without too much pressure on her brittle little shoulders.
