Emilia Clarke's 'Game of Thrones' Co-Star Diagnosed with Cancer

Emilia Clarke's 'Game of Thrones' Co-Star Diagnosed with Cancer

Emilia Clarke is a giggly gal as she makes her way through LAX Airport on Thursday (January 11) in Los Angeles.

The Game of Thrones actress made her way to baggage claim after landing on her incoming flight.

Emilia‘s Game of Thrones co-star Wilko Johnson was just diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pancreas, the BBC reports.

“I am very sad to announce that Wilko has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pancreas. He has chosen not to receive any chemotherapy,” his manager wrote on Wilko‘s Facebook page. “He is currently in good spirits, is not yet suffering any physical effects and can expect to enjoy at least another few months of reasonable health and activity.”

Our thoughts go out to Wilko, the Game of Thrones family, and his loved ones during this difficult time.

Isn’t it a tad inappropriate to announce such a sad news as an addition to the pap photos of Emilia Clarke as the headline? Like seeing her giggling her way through the airport is more relevant than information about Wilko Johnson’s terminal cancer? He may not be as popular as she is but he has a strong fanbase (more so as a musician than a GoT actor) and he deserves more than that.

What a distasteful post by Just Jared. How can you start a post with “Emilia Clarke is a giggly gal” and then segue into talking about Wilko Jones devastating news.

Wilko Jones is an actor and individual in his own right and if you don’t feel he is worthy of his own post or even to use his name in the post title perhaps it would be better not to post about it all rather than use his sad news as an excuse for a headline alongside paparazzi pictures of Emilia Clarke smiling at the airport. Deeply disrespectful.

It’s really sad, but I would have prefered that you could give this news in a separate article, one not related to another actress or cast member.

Just Jared: You can’t do such a post! Showing paparazzi pics and a cancer message in ONE POST????

You know what Jared, this is really awful of you. Wilko Johnson although not as well known to your audience deserves more respect than this…at the very least if you are going to combine the news with someone else–a respectful post. Personally I think the news deserved its own post especially since Hunger Games has a huge following and he has terminal cancer. Sorry, but are you that desperate to hits that you resort to something like this?

    You're a joke, Jared Says:

I agree with the posters above – why is the mention of Emilia Clarke necessary? Is your website so desperate for page views that you have to resort to luring people in with mentions of pretty stars for a story that has nothing to do with them?

Your headline could have been “Game of Thrones Star diagnosed with terminal cancer” and you likely would have just as many page views. You’d also have more journalistic integrity. Wouldn’t that be nice?
