Kris Allen Performs with Broken Wrist After Car Accident

Kris Allen hits the stage with a broken wrist to perform for his fans at the World Cafe on Friday (January 11) in Philadelphia, Penn.

The 27-year-old singer is back on tour just days after being in a New Year’s Day car accident.

“My wife and I were driving home. We were getting into a turning lane and this lady came out of nowhere and hit us head on. We were going about 25 miles an hour,” Kris said in a recent interview about the crash. “From the looks of the car, it could have been a lot worse. It kept us real safe. There were a lot of airbags.”

Why does he make so many facial contortions when he sings … it’s so unattractive. I’ve never been able to make it all the way thru any video of him because I cannot stand the faces he makes when he sings. I wonder why no one tells him to STOP. Look at the picture above (bottom row, second from left). It’s absolutely AWFUL!!! Why does he want people to see him like that?

He’s absolutely adorable & may I say hot as f****, even with a cast! Don’t know how that is possible?! His tour started Jan 8 is giving us the chills, just watching his performances on YT are incredible, let alone reality! Just wish he recovers quickly. I am so worried about his arm & wrist, cause he jumps up & down & work the stage like crazy, even in pain he still give his 101% .. I just love him so much & wish him all the success Inte World!

LOSER!!! What kind of freaking loser tweets out a picture of himself during a car accident. Only time the midget gets press. He’s so dog ugly. Why does he make those weird faces all the time. He looks like a chimpanzee

    Ellegirl Says:

He’s touring places like The Pickle Barrel, The Tractor House and The Dive. He can’t even fill a 100 person venue. His career has tanked. No label, lousy voice, and couldn’t fill a bathroom.

    lol glamberts, never change

Kris is such a trooper. Out on tour a week after a head-on car crash, and 4 days after surgery. Sounding and looking great!

    Richard Anthony Says:

Kris needed to tour four days after surgery because he needs the money. No label now, so he’s on his own. I can’t believe though that he nets very much from these shows … small crowds, cheap tickets, band members to pay, travel expenses. It’s like he’s doing the exact same thing he did before he went on Idol … playing in small clubs and dive bars. Too bad because he’s not untalented, he just has a very generic sound. His music is just not very good or very current sounding IMO.

Nice to see some people holding a onto a grudge nearly FOUR years after Kris and Adam were on Idol. Move on, already!

I was at this show in Philadelphia and the place was packed. They absolutely loved Kris. He sounded amazing and was dancing and bouncing all over the stage despite his broken wrist.

And what does it matter what size venues he is playing? Less than 1% of the working musicians in this world are stars. Most musicians are doing exactly what Kris is doing, touring around the country playing smaller venues trying to build a fanbase. As long as they are able to support themselves doing this, and they love what they are doing, why do people feel the need to run them down or label them as failures? They are all far more successful than I’d be if I tried to go out on the road and perform music in front of people.

Kris is a fantastic musician and person, and I had a great time at his show. He said he hopes to go back into the studio in March, so I’m excited about maybe getting more music from him in 2013.

I was at the Philadelphia show. Yes, it was “packed”, but it was a very small venue. I would say 200 people at the most. So while “sold out” and “packed” sound great, let’s be realistic. Kris is playing in very small venues. A couple of hundred people consisting of mostly fans who travel from show to show isn’t going to expand his fan base. I sat next to someone who was seeing him for the third time since the Out Alive tour started. Good luck to him though.

@marie: Why is it assumed that just because there is a negative comment about Kris Allen, that it is an Adam Lambert fan?

    krismicklin Says:

I love the small venues since the fans can get up close to see Kris perform his AWESOME and funny shows. Kris loves to perform and does not want to disappoint his fans. This tour was set up way before his car accident , yet he still wants to complete it even with a broken arm. He knows that many people have already made their travel arrangements and is so considerate of others. Do yourself a favor and go to one of his shows. You will not be disappointed.

Great photos! Looks like Kris cares about his fans regardless of their number. This is how real musicians build their following and Kris is real, talented musician.

Pssssssst Jared, did you know that Adam Lambert’s Label dropped him yesterday! Please prepare us a nice post about this! Poor thing, he’s already over 30, who will hire him now. Even broadway doesn’t hire that old!

    LAMusic Says:

Toni, check out his latest album ‘Thank You Camellia’. You can buy it from iTunes or Amazon. Fabulous record.

Jamie, I understand the venue holds 650 and you are saying it was packed and your guestimate is 200? Your even a few hundred low in comparison to another anti-Kris person who claims to have been there.

I had the pleasure of seeing Kris Allen a year ago in LA and I was blown away as was the rest of the audience of mainly first timers. I’ve been watching youtubes from his shows since and he and his band are amazing. They give good show and it appears a unique experience each time they perform.

I’m looking forward to seeing him again next month on the CA leg of the tour. He may not be able to play guitar and piano yet, but from what I’m seeing, that doesn’t detract from the experience.

Lastly, I’ve seen some of the biggest names in music and always prefer when they did the smaller, more intimate venues. I’m appreciative that Kris is keeping ticket prices affordable so that college age and the working class can enjoy a night of great music.

Wow some of you people are really rude

    Brianne Says:

@Molly: The same reason that when there’s a negative comment about Adam in his posts his fans blame Kris fans. It’s a sad, old fan war that some people can’t let go of.

    Amanda Says:

Ok, some of the comments on here are ridiculous. I’m pretty sure Kris is doing just fine. He’s playing shows, yeah they’re smaller venues, but so? I was at the Boston show and their were tons of people there. It was a great concert. And, to that person that said Adam’s label dropped him? No, they didn’t. He parted ways with 19 Recordings, but is still with RCA and even if for some reason they do drop him or he decides to leave he will be fine. Both men are amazing talents and are clearly making a career out of making music. That’s extremely hard to do and I think they’re doing amazing jobs! Love them both! Stop with the hate, it’s ridiculous.

Kris is a great guy and a talented musician. Who would’ve thought that a little post about him doing his shows with his wrist in a cast would bring out so many vultures! Kudos to you, Kris Allen. I’ll be at your show when you head my way.

    Brenda Says:

Kris puts on a terrific show. He has a nice mix of his original music and some covers that he infuses with his own style. I’ve seen him several times and can’t wait for my show coming up in April. If you haven’t actually seen him perform live, give yourself a treat and see him up close at one of these shows. BTW his latest album Thank You Camellia is packed with great songs! Give it a listen. You may be pleasantly surprised. :)

    Yendi Says:

Kris is so talented! Been following him since the very beginning and he always puts on an incredible show. Can’t wait to see the Out Alive Tour in just a few days!

    liz Says:

Anytime someone wins a show as big as AI, bitter fans of other contestants always have to make negative comments. I guess that’s to be expected, but I agree that some of AL’s fans have surpassed all other fans in negativity. It is rather pathetic to continue to post comments on posts about a musician AFTER 4 YEARS, though! The reason people assume it’s AL fans is because they’ve so religiously & consistently made such comments on every post about Kris.

Anyways, I’m impressed that Kris is performing so many shows & sets so soon after a bone-breaking accident & surgery. Congrats to him & to Katy about the baby!

    Kristen Says:

Sorry, but it goes two ways. Kris’ fans are among the nastiest anywhere … worse than the Beliebers and the Little Monsters. They can say what they want about the “Glamberts” but they are far worse.

    e_dog Says:

Glamberts just need to have a thicker skin, LOL
