Elizabeth Banks: 'Now I'm Really A Mom!'

Elizabeth Banks is bright as can be in a full yellow ensemble while filming scenes for her flick Walk of Shame on Wednesday (January 16) in Los Angeles.

The 38-year-old actress recently chatted with People about becoming a mom for the second time this past November.

“Two is very different from one. When you have one kid, you feel like you can jet set around and you can throw him on the hip and you get your life done,” Elizabeth said. “You don’t realize how easy one is until you have two. Now I’m really a mom. Oh, I am a mom now! This is for serious — I am responsible for two people now.”

Elizabeth and her husband Max Handelman are parents to Felix and Magnus.

Also pictured below is Elizabeth celebrating the limited edition babyGap Peter Rabbit collection with a reading of Emma Thompson‘s sequel, The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit! David Burtka and Molly Sims also came out for the festivities!

she is an idiot for saying that how will her sons feel when they’re old enough to read that or have their friends in school laugh at them about it

# 3

@Courtney: Exactly. How freaking rude. It’s incredibly arrogant of her to speak that way especially when she obviously has the money for paid help and various assistants and nannies to help her be a “real mom”.

How would she feel if someone made an ignorant statement about her and said she wasn’t a real mother because she has never experienced childbirth and all her kids were born via a surrogate? A real mom is someone who loves and does her best to after their child or children whether she has one or eighteen kids, whether she gave birth, adopted, fostered or had them via surrogacy.

If you didn’t want the extra burden you should have just stopped at one.

Who is she ?

I think I’ve read a different quote than you guys because I don’t see anything idiotic, offensive or rude in her statement. She just stated the obvious that taking care of two children is more difficult than taking care of one. It’s simple as that so why are you trying to read some offensive subtexts into that? She didn’t say she regrets anything or that she is better than parents of one child. It’s her experience.

Her quote should be “You don’t realize how easy it is until you’ve carried the child in your womb and given birth to it” — as opposed to paying someone to do the job.

# 8

You guys are taking her words the wrong way lol. Shes right about what shes saying, and I doubt her kids will feel bad about it.

@mel:

For your information “Mel”, she is UNABLE to carry her own child. How rude and presumptuous of you to assume she chose surrogacy instead of having her children herself. I hope you don’t have any children because if you do, how unfortunate for them to have such an ignorant parent.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand cue all of the lonely, fat, bitter stay-at-home moms. Instead of spending time on the interwebs (when you’re not watching your stories, of course), how about taking care of your spawn? Go outside once in a while. Work off some of the baby weight so your husband might be attracted to you. Of course not as attracted as he is to his young, sexy co-worker he’s enjoying “lunch” with while you’re whining about a complete stranger’s comments in a tabloid rag.

@True:

Elizabeth Banks is unable to carry children to term. Hers are surrogacy pregnancies. But being the mother of two boys only a year apart.. I completely understand her sentiment. People are being overly touchy about what she said.

She was on 30 Rock for two seasons as Jack’s overachieving journalist wife and she is Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games.

@ Kristen – somebody’s projecting….

@look in the mirror: Au contraire. I’m not a breeder.
