Barack & Michelle Obama: National Prayer Service After Inauguration

President Barack Obama and his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, sing with the masses at the National Prayer Service held at the National Cathedral on Tuesday (January 22) in Washington, DC.

The 51-year-old Commander in Chief and his 49-year-old wife were joined at the ceremony by his VP Joe Biden with his wife Jill.

“‘I want to take a look one more time. I’m not going to see this again.’”—The President pausing at the Capitol yesterday” President Obama‘s Twitter updated yesterday, referring to the immense crowds that came to see him at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration.

The President was officially sworn in this past Sunday, but took the oath again on public television on MLK day.

    Kelly Clarkson shown the light of liberty of a happy & free American Girl through the gloom of the day, especially that angry, vengeful speech by our tyrant, er, I mean president.
    God bless Kelly Clarkson — A Great American!

    @offtheproperty: ‘Off the Property’s comment only half makes sense. Kelly Clarkson is a wonderful singer and a great supporter of President Obama. Ms. Clarkson also knows that light of liberty as a happy and free American girl being present at the inauguration on a happy day with our President. God Bless our President, Kelly and these United States of America.

    @Jessica: Obama is taking everything we have, from our day-in & day-out liberty, to our Constitutional Freedoms, to our economic independence in the world.
    I guess Kelly drank the Kool-Aid along with almost everyone else. Her first thought was her best thought — when she supported Ron Paul.
    Obama doesn’t even have the imagination to understand the damage he’s doing. We all take our freedoms for granted and they can be taken away.

    @offtheproperty:

    Please, your comment is so filled with extreme right-wing talking points. Obama isn’t taking our freedoms, he is trying to protect innocent citizens from zealots. It seems some like to ignore that part of the second amendment where it says “well regulated”.

    @Christine: He wants to make us all equal. You don’t want that.

    I’m French and this kind of thing will always seem strange to me. Religion is someting very private over here and we don’t mess with the Separation of the Churches and the State. It always amaze me how american potliicians showcase there religion during there campaign, takes the oath or even massively say religious words. I think I’ve never heard a French president even say “Dieu vous bénisse” (God bless you). I don’t event know what is our president religion, if he has any. And, over here, we think that it’s not our business. Our countries are sooooo different on some points. I wonder if that’s a French thing or if other European countries are the same. (Forgive my pooooooor English)
