    Wow. Says:

    Whoa, Jennifer is cleaning house! You go girly. And continue to stay humble, it really makes people love you more ;0). Humility is a gift!

  2. 2
    Ana Maria Says:

    So happy Jen won! She deserved it! She is a great example of a talented, young hollywood actress not like umm “cough kristen stewart cough”

    Megan Says:

    Ok let me start off by saying I agree with majority of the winners! I’m not a hater or a child who is going to bash an actor, this is just my opinion

    I’m very disappointed in the winner of the female actor in a leading role. I have never understood the appeal with Jennifer Lawrence. I feel her acting to be very average and I don’t think she had enough (or how she portrayed her role in SLPB) to win such an award especially with Chastain and Watts and Colliand in the catergory. I mean, please explain to me how her portrayal in SLPB harbored her winning all these awards and even being nominated for an OSCAR.

    I think she is very like able and she might be the sweetest person ever but this coming from strictly from her acting: what makes everyone think this girl is so good? What’s the hype? I’ve seen all her films and I have yet to see more than average acting (not bad, just average)

  4. 4
    Ana Maria Says:

    Jennifer will stay in the movie industry for a long time, she has so much talent. Hope she stays grounded and doesn’t change like many hollywood actresses do nowadays.

  5. 5
    Lauren Says:

    All the Jessica Chastain stans are sobbing right now. Get ready to do it again at the Oscars, Jen has this thing in the bag. 22 years old. She’s so amazing.

    Anne’s teeth look YELLOW. Gross.

  6. 6
    francine Says:

    Just give Anne the oscar now. Everyone knows she’s going to win.

  7. 7
    mel Says:

    @Megan: Everyone is entitled to their opinion.. Although I think you might be in the minority for this one. The people who choose nominees and vote for these kind of awards are very well respected and have many many years in the business, so they must see something in her that you don’t. Nothing wrong with that, but you might have to get used to seeing her because she is certainly very well liked in Hollywood.

    Moreen Says:

    Daniel Day-Lewis totally deserved it!I don’t the thing about Argo though.. i mean yeah it was a good movie but not a great one!And of course congrats to Jennifer Lawrence…young talent at its best!!

  9. 9
    Josh Says:

    @Megan: I agree, don’t get why she is given all these noms and awards. she’s a pretty good actor but there are lots of those out there and they never get nominated or win anything.

  10. 10
    Karen Says:

    @Megan:

    I agree! I have said this before and I will say it again, based on strictly her acting, it’s nothing special. Watt’s performance was haunting and painful and beautiful and Chastain’s performance was so layered and subtle that you forget she’s acting

    Yet we gave it to the girl who’s performance was nothing special.

    Lets the attacks come but really think about it

  11. 11
    Greg Says:

    @Megan:

    Yes! I couldn’t agree more with you! Since Lawrence started, I have yet to see these magical “talents” people speak of! The hype that surrounds her isnt backed up by her acting at all. She seems very personable, yes and I understand how that can make people defend and like her but WINNING Against MERYL? WATTS? Come on, it’s true but people say these days, true acting has taken a seat to image

  12. 12
    Paige Says:

    I don’t understand her recovery so quickly either. I got pneumonia at 15,I felt like I had been run over by a truck. I was weak and extremely tired for week. I wasn’t contagious, but she should have stayed at home. SAG awards aren’t that important even if she won. I hope she doesn’t have a relapse. I was hoping Naomi Watts or Jessica Chastain would have won.

  13. 13
    Moreen Says:

    @Karen: i respect your opinion, i really do. but take the time to think that we are talking about a 22 year old young woman!at 22 she is been showing SO MUCH talent!and her performance in silver linings playbook was truly great!i love Watts but didn’t like the Impossible and Jessica Chastain was amazing in The Help but in Zero dark thirty she didn’t surprise me i expected more!Anyway my point is that Lawrence is actually representing the new generation of actresses and she is doing it elegantly and with much talent

  14. 14
    Lauren Says:

    @Paige:

    Both of them would have been better than Lawrence. I like her as a person but as an actress, I don’t think she is anything special

  15. 15
    Ana Maria Says:

    If Anne doesn’t win the oscar I seriously give up, but Amy Adams would make a good winner too.

  16. 16
    Lauren Says:

    Naomi Watts, Emmanuelle Riva and the 9-year-old stand NO CHANCE. This was always a two-person race and while the GGs are a joke, the SAG awards are a great predictor of who will win the Oscar. Except when Meryl Streep is involved.

  17. 17
    Karen Says:

    @Moreen:

    First of all, thank you for being so open to opinions but not jumping down my throat! I agree that for her age, she has a maturity that a lot of people her age do not have. Her acting is also better than the garbage alot of people in her age group put out but is that enough to have her win? I just don’t feel that just because “she good because she is only 22!” Is enough to snub all these other actresses who’s performance were ten times better

  18. 18
    Moreen Says:

    @Karen: oh don’t get me wrong i don’t think that she should win because she is young. I just think that she has a raw talent..you should watch her in Winter’s Bone you can see what i’m talking about. In Silver linings playbook she portrayed a role that was not for her age but she still did it with much talent!i really don’t think that chastain’s or watts’ performances were 10 times better than Lawrence’s..if you want my opinion Riva is Amour did the BEST job

  19. 19
    Karen Says:

    @Moreen:

    I’ve seen her winter’s bone and I feel as if that was her best work but just in MY OPINION, isn’t saying much. I just agree with the OP that not much acting talents were needed for the materials given to her in silver linings enough to win a Oscar.

    But I also agree with you that in a perfect world, based solely on talent, RIva would win

  20. 20
    Maria Says:

    I agree, JLaw is very overrated. I could name 10 performances that were better than hers and required real acting chops this year but image always wins, sadly

  21. 21
    Moreen Says:

    @Karen: alright then let’s agree to disagree! i hope Riva wins that would be perfect..

  22. 22
    Maria Says:

    @Moreen:

    Yes! And this is how differences in opinions should go! Hahahaha thank you for being respectful of my opinion and I respect yours as well!! And yes! RIva should take home the Oscar!!

  23. 23
    Hal Says:

    SAG turned into an industry award

  24. 24
    Karen Says:

    @Maria:
    @Moreen:

    Yes, Im glad that we can all agree to disagree, respectfully! And who knows maybe RIva will take home the Gold!!

  25. 25
    AngelEyes Says:

    Was about to watch Anne Hathaway’s Les Miserables. But after seeing her interview with the Philippines’ Rico Lo in You Tube. . . Ok, he was time pressured got nervous. . . But whoa! She’s so DIVA. How much more now she’d been winning. She thinks she’s so smart and fabulous.Sad. Sad. Sad.

  26. 26
    Moreen Says:

    @Karen: @Maria: I hate it when people try to “kill” each other because they disagree! Riva has a good chance in winning! OT am i the only one who doesn’t want Argo to win Best Picture?

  27. 27
    Sophie Says:

    There’s many people who think Jen is average, but I think she’s a great actress. I mean compare her to any other actress of her generation, she is by far the best actress in her age group. Maybe Jessica or Naomi desserved the award more than her, but no one can deny that her performance in silver linings playbooks was amazing. I think she has a great future in front her, not only shes talented but shes really down to earth and likeable.

  28. 28
    Lolita Says:

    Bull!! I like Jennifer Lawrence but lets be honest, she did not deserve that award. The industry just nominated her so a younger demographic would tune in since their ratings are in the whole. This year’s award season is such crap! Nobody will remember their roles like back in the day when someone would win.

  29. 29
    Sara Says:

    jennifer is adooored by these awards, without a doubt she will get the oscar..

  30. 30
    xax Says:

    how is Glee still nominated for ANYTHING

  31. 31
    naath Says:

    People, calm down about Jennifer’s award… it is just for consolation, just like happened last year with Viola… she will not win an Oscar.

  32. 32
    Catherine Says:

    @Megan: Agreee,

  33. 33
    anna Says:

    What a surprise the young hottie winning over the old much more talented actresses. And Ben Affleck winning an acting award is a joke. His awful acting almost ruined Argo.

  34. 34
    Mary Says:

    This awards season is a BIG SHAME!
    Tell me how in the world mediocre performances from Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts can be nominate and win anything? this is ridiculous!
    All these stupid awards are sold just like the Oscar: is much more about fame and lobby than talent!
    Congratulations Harvey Weinstein! the real (lobbyist) winner in this awards season!

  35. 35
    Paige Says:

    @naath: I forgot about that. Viola did win the SAG and GG but Meryl Streep took him the gold.

  36. 36
    CURBY_from_THE_house Says:

    I adore Jennifer Lawrence, her acting and her speeches. I’m thinking for some people, it looks unfair that she’s getting an award at such a young age and with hardly any drama training as opposed to those who have trained for years with little less luck. Hollywood is obsessed with proteges and they’ll always look for actors with more instinct and less technical skill. Her acting and projects match up to her skills. I’m hoping to see her do something different like in an accent. But she’s great!!!!

  37. 37
    Ari Says:

    Finally some Bryan Cranston in the house!!!yesss….
    Happy with all the winners(though I like chastain a tiny tiny tiny more than lawrence!!!)

  38. 38
    Sasha Says:

    @Megan: I agree with you completely! Her acting is good but in any case as good as the other nominees! But she is the lead actress to “The Hunger Games” that has so many fans!! Being in awards is about more viewers for the awards shows!!!! It seems that awards has been ridiculous the past years.
    No nominations for Marion, Ben and Keira for the Oscars???? But instead Jennifer got one (and she probably going to win an Oscar as well)!!!

  39. 39
    Melanie Says:

    @Megan: I agree with you completely! Her acting is good but in any case as good as the other nominees!
    Being in awards is about more viewers for the awards shows and the Hunger games has a lot!

  40. 40
    Lily Says:

    I appreciate both Lawrence and Chastain very much, but to me Chastain belong to the group of the very good actresses, quality actresses that are not cast because of their look but for their skills (along wih Streep, Dench, Mirren, Huppert..).

    Lawrence is very talented for a 22 yo but I bet she’ll be even better when she’ll have more experiences, as for now I just see her as very talented young actress.

    Everybody knew the competition was between these two ladies.
    The thing is, I find it much more difficult to play someone “normal” like Chastain did in ZDT where she had to convey emotions and means by a look or an intonation in the voice than having a crazy character to play – since most people aren’t crazy, she can do (almost) whatever she wants to, you can’t judge by saying “Cray people don’t behave like that, I know about it”.

    Lizzie Says:

    Only winner I disagree with is female actor in a leading role.not surprised jennifer lawrence won,out of all the filmsthe in that category,SLP is the only one that has been overly promoted during awards season at the moment.IMO SLP is not that great film,couldnt even last till the end of film cos it was soooo boring, personally I think naomi watts performance was powerful and moving compared to jennifer lawrence who basically has same expression on her face in every movie I have seen her in. she is a talented actress but don’t get the hype around but thats just my opinion

  42. 42
    cheri Says:

    This is a great list of winners, and I congratulate all of them. Modern Families win was awesome, because they definitely deserved that win. I had to finish my shift at DISH when the awards were on, so I set it up to record on my DISH Hopper. I can record up to six shows at once, which is nice because I have so many shows on. I was able to watch the awards and not worry there would be a DVR conflict.

  43. 43
    Jjiji Jooojojo Says:

    As much as I like Anne in Les Mis, I want Amy Adams (who is seriously underrated, btw) to win the Oscar. I also think Jennifer Lawrence’s performance was the weakest out of her category.

  44. 44
    Des Says:

    Anne is desperate for an Oscar . She is doing what Natalie Portman did two years ago. Campaign for her award! Pathetic!
    I agree that this is a very boring and dull awards season for acting atleast.
    Except for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. Many good men are nominated.
    Also Best Picture could be anyone. I want Life of Pi to win.

  45. 45
    Des Says:

    Also, The 9 year old nomination was silly. So they didn’t give Marion Cotillared or Rachel Weiz a spot but her?
    Stupid and silly. If you are gonna nominate her, then you might as well nominate the boy from Life of Pi. He was brilliant. Or Tom Holland. He was far better.

  46. 46
    drey Says:

    why the cast of game of thrones doesn’t win anything? this is wrong, so many good actors and such a great show.

  47. 47
    swaggerswagger1019 Says:

    You know, Anne might play Judy Garland well. I’m just assessing her look.

  48. 48
    papa Says:

    For the haters: Call you mother I need to born you again!
