Dakota Fanning Covers 'Glamour' March 2013

Dakota Fanning is Mickey Mouse chic on the cover of Glamour magazine’s March 2013 issue, on newsstands February 5.

Here’s what the 18-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On what her little sister Elle has taught her: “She’s very uninhibited and will try pretty much anything. Even the way she dresses— she dresses totally for herself. She risks being made fun of…by me, which I sometimes do, because I’m an older sister! But I totally admire her and think she’s very cool.”

On being single: “Yeah. I don’t really date. I have a weird vision of relationships because my parents have known each other since second grade, and they got married right out of college. I’ve always thought that’s what it’s supposed to be like, and if it’s not, then I don’t want to waste my time on it. Even when I was 14, I was like, “I’m not gonna marry this person. What’s the point of doing it?” It’s not me being naive. I just know what it’s supposed to be like. And I think until I feel that, I cannot be bothered.”

On having fun with fashion: “It’s really fun when you’re getting dressed for something. It’s not when you’re in the rain with an umbrella and trying to carry a case of water. Yep, that’s me, alone, coming from Duane Reade. I’m not wearing a bra. Deal with it.”

All grown up. Always loved her, she’s growing up to be such a beautiful women. Really hope Dakota doesn’t turn into a complete wreck, like some young child stars who try the whole bad girl/boy act to get away from their childhood image.

bravo Dakota .. you’re the only one so far who has sense when it comes to relationships in Hollywood . Couldn’t agree more

i love how after all that succes as a child actress she still is so normal and down to earth
and she has a healthy mind on relationships and is not one of these young chics dating one guy after another, good for her!

i really like the cover…

Taylor Swift should really take notes from her, ESPECIALLY when it comes to dating. Dakota’s definitely mature in that department and doesn’t have to date everyone in Hollywood.

Love her. She seems so normal & down to earth. Good moral compass too. I like how she doesn’t try to ‘act mature’….or like an ‘adult’. What I mean is, a lot of celebs her age go all crazy & leak naked pics & start acting a fool to prove to us just how adult they are. Sit down. Breathe. Enjoy being 18. You are not 30, 40, 50. You are 18.

Dakota is hot and sexy.

she looks TERRIBLE. TOO much make-up. If this was Taylor Swift you guys would be crucifying her for this look. Dakota looks bad.

Wise and mature young lady :)) Rare thing in Hollywood.

She basically said exactly what I feel when it comes to relationships!
I can never understand people who settle or put a timeline on their love life

While I agree she’s grown up well and is a great actress, I wish Glamour would feature older actresses/singers, their last few covers, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, now Dakota Fanning have me thinking it’s Seventeen magazine, not Glamour.

Déjà vu overload much? This is way too similar to the Taylor Swift cover shoot from the November 2012 issue. Same vintage theme, same doll-like blond curls, same makeup, same sequins/glitter/princessy clothes.

@Lynn: Why? Just because you approve of her dating philosophy, other celebrities need to apply that to their own lives? Relationships are a very personal thing. You can support Dakota’s take on it or disagree with it, but don’t expect everyone to abide by, or even try to abide by, the same rules. Also please keep in mind you don’t know Taylor Swift in person. It’s unfair to criticize based on how the media portrays her.
