It was recently announced that Michael May will direct the upcoming pilot for Hatfields & McCoys, which is being produced by Charlize, Dawn Parouse Olmstead, Beau Flynn, and ABC Studios.
The show will revolve around “a startling death re-ignites the feud between these two legendary families in present-day Pittsburgh, unleashing decades of resentment.”

Didn’t they just show this on tv? I think Kevin Costner was the star and he even won some award for his performance. Why are the Hatfields and McCoys suddenly so popular?
@Kate: With Kevin Costner it was popular and good to watch, so of course Hollywood decided to make more money from it. They can never let something stand on it’s own. Greed.
Um….. Wasn’t there just an award-winning mini-series made about these same exact families?
