Shia LaBeouf's Reported Acid Trip: 'Countryman' Director Weighs In

Shia LaBeouf grabs a big jug of protein powder to go from a vitamin store on Thursday (January 31) in New York City.

The 26-year-old actor recently opened up that he took drugs for his film The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman to make it more authentic.

Director Fredrik Bond spoke out on the situation.

“He really wanted to prepare for himself, so I’m not really sure, actually,” Fredrik said to the WSJ. “In certain scenes he would arrive and I would just feel like he would be ready… He would just come on and do his thing, and it would be amazing. Other times we had more time where we really needed to discuss and caliber. Shia and I had talked a lot about these fake drug trips you see in movies. They can become very phony, so it was something we discussed every single day during the entire production. How are we going to do that scene?”

FYI: Shia is wearing a Levi‘s jacket.

this kid tries so hard to be a “good actor” but good actors don’t need to do that kind of crazy s h i t

I believe he took drugs, but just for the authenticity of a movie, no. What part of your brain says, “I’m going to take drugs for a movie and risk becoming an addict?”‘ Maybe he’s got issues beyond just wanting to be a good actor.
