  • Czarina

This is news that matters!!! Congratulations, definitely well deserved :)

  • jamie

That’s great! People need to realise this isn’t the Jennifer vs Jessica show, and that there are other deserving nominees (although both JJ were great in their respective films). This just makes the question as to who will win the Oscar more exciting. There’s no obvious answer now…

  • Anne

    Great news!!!

  • talia

great news, so happy she won. hope she goes away with the Oscar as she truly deserves it

  • Moira

i’m so happy for her. I hope she’s going to win the oscar !

  • anna

I hope she wins the Oscar!

  • Julie

    That’s good!
    She really deserves it!
I hope she wins the Oscar now instead of Jessica and Jennifer, both overrated actresses with too much lobby around them!

  • samia

@Julie: well im happy for her but if she wins doesnt mean jessica or jennifer or marion not great actresses so stop speaking for nothing its just bafta not end of the world, they have an opportunities to made many others movies in the future

  • leto

    well deserved!

  • Moreen

YAY!!Riva deserved it, Amour is a wonderful film!!

  • jocelyn

when her name was announced jennifer lawrence looked at david t russell who in turn looked at harvey weinstein all with the same”what the f**k?!” expression on their faces. obviously somebody’s checks got lost in the post.

  • Love is Amour

Just proves it’s never too late. Hope she wins all the awards.

  • Angie

Very well deserved award! Congratulations emmanuelle and we hope you win the oscar best actress too!

  • noob

Well done to the BAFTAs for not following the crowd!! As much as I love Jennifer Lawrence, I don’t think her SLP role is deserving of an Oscar. I hope Emmanuelle wins the Oscar too, incredible performance.

  • Emily

This is so well deserved. She was absolutely amazing in Amour. Shame on the Silver Linings Director and Jennifer Lawrence for the rude and disrespectful looks on their faces when Emmanuelle was announced as the winner. Zero class displayed by those two.

@jocelyn: OMG really??? I wish there was a video on the internet or something because I didn’t get to watch the ceremony =(

Harvey must be p*ssed off! Now Jennifer Lawrence will appear on a million more talk shows this week making dumb comments to appeal to the old men who vote for the Oscars.

  • kevin

i was surprised I thought that rather jessica deserved to win at least she was present poor girl she deserves this trophy, i saw all the movies this year this year and by far jessica was the best riva was good but the movies so boring and gloomy, hope riva didnt win in oscar no need to onother frensh actress again last year gary oldman deserve it and dujardin won all the awards for an stupid movie

  • Toni

Please let her win the Oscar! The only actress nominated who deserves it!

  • Czarina

I’m hoping Chastain wins too, but seriously, your opinion is a waste of time. How can you disregard the quality of work of an actor because of where they come from? Stop being so narrow minded.

  • Lily

This year’s leading lady are the cherishes on the top of cake. It’s gonna be though to pick one. They have all delivered quality work and are quality actresses in general.
Some years i’m like “meh, she did good in this movie but she sucked in many other movies” – I won’t name anyone.
I wish Chastain would win (but only because she’s my pet). And respect for Riva, she didn’t rob anyone by winning, talent is talent.

  • oy

Finally a winner for having talent, not a skilled press agent.

  • Becky
  • ash

a skilled agent? you mean Jennifer Lawrence? I agree.

  • Sarah

Jessica also made a disgusting face when Emannuelle’s name was announced, but when she saw the camera on her face she suddenly showed a fake smile. That came after her PR post on facebook saying how she “supports” her fellow nominees. Yeah, she was very “supportive” at BAFTAs.

  • Lana

Remarkable performance, deserved winner! As for the Oscar who knows nothing is a sure thing

  • Lana

    @Sarah: yeah I saw that too…..

  • Snooby Dooby Doo

Yay hope she wins the Oscar instead of Jennifer Lawrence who didn’t give half as good a performance. Although I’ll be happy even if Jessica or Naomi win. Shame on David O Russell. I’m just glad Harvey doesn’t buy the BAFTAs like he does with the Oscars
