10 Reasons To Tune Into 'The Carrie Diaries'

If you’re not already watching The Carrie Diaries, you’re missing out!

It’s one of our favorite new shows of the year for so many reasons.

Stay tuned later this week for JJ‘s interviews from our recent visit to the set! And be sure to tune in tonight at 8PM ET on The CW!

For now, here are 10 reasons why you should be watching!

1. You don’t have to be a Sex and the City fan
Despite the fact that it’s technically a prequel, The Carrie Diaries is a show all its own.

2. The fashion is stellar
From the big hair to the loud colors, Eric Daman‘s vision is just as amazing as we expected. Still, it’s subtle and true to the 80s.

3. Walt’s coming out storyline
Sure, we’ve seen the secretly gay boyfriend storyline before, but the writers aren’t using that as an excuse to be lazy with it. Not to mention, Brendon Dooling‘s acting is just superb.

4. The sex talk is realistic
All too often TV shows either talk about sex to the extreme or just ignore it completely. Here, we have a normal, realistic balance that speaks to teens.

5. Carrie is really likeable!
It’s seemingly become harder and harder to find female characters to relate to on television, but AnnaSophia Robb and the writers have already perfected the optimistic naivety and confidence of Carrie Bradshaw.
